Scarsdale A Cappella Troupe Takes First Place

acappellaplummerFor Good Measure, an a cappella troupe from Scarsdale High School won first place at the Westchester County competition on Sunday April 10 in competition with 14 other a cappella choirs from Westchester area high schools. The "Echords" from Horace Greeley took second place and the "Wild Scats" from Rye Country Day won third place.

For the past 12 years, high school students from all over Westchester have competed with other area a cappella choirs in order to raise money and awareness for Gilda's Club. This year, the proceeds will be donated to create an area in the Gilda Clubhouse just for teens impacted by cancer.

For Good Measure performed the songs" Like a Prayer" by Madonna and "Shark In the Water" by VV Brown. The

concert took place at the Masters School in Dobbs Ferry. Members who performed are Andrew Wang, Sarah Warshowsky, Allie Goodman. Cara Scharf, Nicole Lenchner, Lilly Claar, Emma Henderson, Morgan Hecht, Annie Abrams, Jamie Ballan, Alexa Feldman, Michelle Ostroff, Talia Plummer, Becca Zipursky, Sophie Laruelle, Andrew Feyer, Sarang Sharma and Pranav Bhatnagar.
