Home Sales: First Quarter Report for 2026 is Similar to 2025

It’s no secret that the housing market is tight, but just how tough is it to buy a house in Scarsdale or Edgemont?
Data from the first quarter of 2026 was recently released and so far, this year is looking very much like 2025.
In the first quarter of 2026, 25 homes were sold in Scarsdale, exactly the same number as in 2025. In Edgemont just 10 homes sold, down from 11 in the first quarter last year.

At the same time, the median sale price in Scarsdale was up 4% from $2,320,000 to $2,408,000 and up 75% in Edgemont to $1,925,000 from $1,100,000. Of course with just 10 homes sold in Edgemont, that number could be skewed by one big sale.

This week we saw a flurry of new listings – and hopefully this trend will continue in the coming weeks resulting in a better second quarter.
On the flip side, it’s a great time to sell for anyone contemplating a move.
