Coming Down and Going Up

It’s a busy season for builders in Scarsdale, with houses coming down and going up at a fast clip. Before a home can be demolished, the Scarsdale Committee for Historic Preservation must consider the property’s historical significance. As a result, the list of applications for consideration by the committee is growing. On the agenda for the April 17 meeting of the committee are six homes.

Here are the addresses:

9 Stonehouse Road – built in 1951

10 Ogden Road built in 1949

16 Cambridge Road built in 1951

9 Hamilton Road built in 1921

10 Richbell Road built in 1925

50 Brookby Road built in 1935

Above find a photo of 10 Richbell Road, which sits on 1.62 acres in Murray Hill. If the committee does not find that it merits preservation it will be demolished.
