Real Estate: Lots on the Market and Many Homes to See

There may be a silver lining for homebuyers in Scarsdale, despite the discouraging changes in the tax law. The inventory of homes on the market is up over last year, providing more choice for buyers and perhaps more flexibility on the price.

According to Houlihan Lawrence’s August 2018 market report, there were 146 homes for sale as of August 31, 2018, which is up 15.9% from August 2017. They also report 4.1 months of inventory on the market, up 10.8% from August, 2017. Though all of this is not welcome news to those trying to sell their homes, it should motivate prospective buyers who will be presented with many good options and lots to see.
