Hahn and Brown to Lead 2026-27 Scarsdale School Board

Suzie Hahn was sworn in as President of the Scarsdale School BoardBoard members changed places at the table at their organizational meeting on Wednesday July 15, 2026. The Board elected new leadership, re-electing former President Suzie Hahn to serve an additional year as President and Colleen Brown to serve another year as Vice President. The two were sworn in by Superintendent Andrew Patrick.
Colleen Brown nominated Hahn, praising her "unwavering commitment to the students and families of our community" and describing her as "a careful listener" who "leads with professionalism, empathy, and a steady hand."
Board member Jim Dugan nominated Brown, saying she has "consistently impressed me with her hard work, dedication to the educational mission of the district, and focus on improving the experience of Scarsdale students." He added that Brown "is smart, fair, and always works to achieve consensus."
Both Hahn and Brown were elected unanimously.
Also sworn in were two new Board of Education members who won their seats in a contested election
Colleen Brown will serve as Vice Presidentin May 2026. Patrick administered the oath of office to Kevin Ziegler and Omer Wiczyk, who each pledged to "support the Constitution of the United States," uphold the Constitution of the State of New York, and "faithfully discharge the duties of the office of board member of the Scarsdale Union Free School District."
The four join current Board members Jim Dugan, Laura Liu and Leah Dembitzer, to form the seven-member team.
Kevin Ziegler was sworn in by Andrew Patrick.
Omer Wiczyk took the oath of office.
