The Afya Foundation that provides surplus medical supplies and equipment to Africa and the Caribbean is asking for your help to send medical supplies to Liberia and Sierra Leone to protect healthcare workers at Ebola treatment centers. Afya collects supplies that are no longer needed from the healthcare, corporate and private communities and sends them to partner organizations on the ground.
According to Danielle Butin, Afya's Executive Director, there is an immediate need for precautionary supplies to protect health practitioners from Ebola, a deadly disease.
Afya is packing supplies and readying crucial resources for air cargo shipments. They need your financial support to help those who are helping others.
In addition to monetary contributions, the following supplies are needed:
- Heavy Duty Kitchen / Bathroom Cleaning Gloves
- Disinfectants
- Any Goggles (Even Ski or Motorcycle Goggles)
- Rubber Boots
- Mops
- Buckets
Healthcare workers can donate:
- Gloves
- Masks
- Gowns
- Disinfectants
