Village residents piled into the Scarsdale Municipal Pool on Saturday July 5th to enjoy a fun-filled day in the sun. Following the disappointing rainout of the fireworks spectacular and pool carnival on the 4th of July, families had to change their plans but were able to celebrate Independence Day on a beautiful afternoon of activities at the pool.
Children had their faces' painted with vivid designs, participated in swimming races, and played in the pool. The Cookie Monster also made an appearance and thrilled the younger swimmers. Scarsdale mother Jodie Beane commented, "we were hoping that we would get to see the fireworks, but they were cancelled, so other than that we are trying to do the best we can and it turned out to be a good holiday." Another village mother said that "we were initially planning on having a picnic and barbecue but we came down here and we are enjoying the pool, so it turned out to be a nice time." The day after a thunder and lightning filled 4th, July 5th delivered a clear sky and warm breeze. It was a relaxing afternoon for all.
