Scarsdale Boys Win Their Third Consecutive Game on Senior Night

In Scarsdale’s third win in a row, they defeated Spring Valley on Friday, Janaury 30, with a score of 69-32. Thanks to some great defense from Joey Pappalardo with four steals and Spencer Goldfarb with two steals, Scarsdale took this win easily. For the Ders’, everyone was able to get a piece of this win, as almost everyone got a point.
Scarsdale started this game off hot, starting all their seniors and scoring seven points before Spring Valley could even score one. Scarsdale ended the quarter off up 14 with a score of 22-8. Grant Shigekawa and Hunter Ross both scored four points this quarter, along with Abri Gjyriqi scoring two.
Scarsdale went into the second quarter with a significant lead, being up 14. Scarsdale shot many more three point shots than they did in the first quarter. Freshman, Harry Spicer, making two of the team's four three pointers this quarter. Scarsdale was able to score 18 points this quarter, while limiting Spring Valley to just 6.
Spring Valley didn’t have a great first half, only scoring 14, being down 26 points to Scarsdale. The Ders’ started their third quarter off slow, letting up six points early in the third. If Spring Valley had any chance to come back, this would have been their shot. Jason Ling was able to hit a three to lead Scarsdale to a solid 10 points. Unfortunately for Spring Valley, they only scored 13 points, ending the quarter down 23.
Scarsdale had a comfortable lead going into the fourth quarter. After having a weaker third quarter, Scarsdale was motivated to have a better fourth quarter. Spencer Goldfarb was able to have a good fourth quarter, scoring four points, leading the team to 19. Spring Valley had their worst quarter of the game, only scoring five.
With a weak fourth quarter, Spring Valley lost to Scarsdale 69-32. Joey Pappalardo helped Scarsdale win this game with his 12 points and four steals. There was some other great defense from Andrew Roseman, getting a block for himself. Overall a great game for the Raiders, especially a good performance from the seniors.
