The Girls Center is Back!

The Girls Center, an exciting and unique series of after -school workshops helping to empower Middle School girls is back! Sponsored by Scarsdale/Edgemont Family Counseling, The Girls Center will once again be held at The Woman's Club on Drake Road, starting this Thursday, October 4th from 3:30-5:00 pm. Space is limited, but we do have room. We are inviting 7th, 8th and 9th graders this year! If interested please call Scarsdale/Edgemont Family Counseling at 914-723-3281 as soon as possible.

This year's program promises to be as exciting as last. We will introduce many new art projects, include yoga, role playing and creative writing. Together, with other like- minded girls we will gain the courage, strength and confidence to express ourselves more authentically. We also hope to include unusual and fun community service projects into our curriculum this year.

As Rachel Simmons so eloquently put it, " The most precious gift we can give girls is the liberty not only to listen to the greater voice of themselves but to ACT on it. This is the simplest kind of freedom and the most sacred sort of empowerment."
