Firefighters Extinguish Minivan Fire on Ridgecrest East

On Friday afternoon September 26, 2026, the Scarsdale Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle fire on Ridgecrest West. The driver of a minivan pulled over and exited the vehicle after observing smoke emanating from the engine compartment. The driver and several of our neighbors called 911 without delay. As a result, our members arrived quickly and had water on the fire within five minutes of the first call. Fortunately, there were no injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
