Scarsdale's 75th Anniversary Halloween Window Painting Event

Last year's Grand Prize winner was busy at work at the window of Chopt.A stunning fall day had over 500 Halloween painters out on the streets, participating in Scarsdale’s 75th official Halloween Window Painting event on Sunday October 18, 2026.

With the Farmer’s Market in full swing and kids’ activities sponsored by the Scarsdale Business Alliance, painters were out early in the Village.

The young artists used tape to frame their windows and then many proceeded by rolling on a mixture of paint and Bon Ami cleanser to make backgrounds for their work.
Once the backgrounds dried, solo or teams of painters were busy translating their drawings into colorful paintings on the windows of Scarsdale stores.

In addition to the activity in the Village, painters worked on Garth Road, on Palmer Avenue and in the Golden Horseshoe late into the afternoon.

Liz Siprelle explained that her three children were all painting windows in different locations and it was a full day challenge to move the kids and the paint around town.

As the day grew warmer and there was an atmosphere of festivity throughout the Village.

We even spotted some adults who were painting “Family Windows” clearly enjoying dabbing paint onto the windows en plein air.
