All the Empty Rooms: Film Screening and Discussion at Scarsdale Library
Please join the Scarsdale Library and the Friends of Scarsdale Public Library for a poignant, meaningful, and sobering evening featuring a screening of the Oscar winning short documentary All The Empty Rooms, followed by a panel discussion.
ALL THE EMPTY ROOMS follows journalist Steve Hartman and photographer Lou Bopp as they embark on a seven-year-long project to document the empty bedrooms of children killed in school shootings. Hartman steps away from his heartwarming human interest stories and, unbeknownst to his network’s bosses, pursues a piece on absence, memory, and the unseen ripples of America's gun violence epidemic.
After the film, we will be joined by CNN's Sara Sidner, the director of All The Empty Rooms, Josh Seftel, and acclaimed local author Deborah Schupack in a discussion of the role of art in shaping the human experience and bearing witness to tragedy.
Light refreshments will be served courtesy of the Friends of Scarsdale Public Library.
Please Note: This film is rated PG-13 for brief strong language and discussion of gun violence and the death of children. No violence is depicted in the documentary.
