2026 Bicycle Sundays! Since 1974, Westchester County residents have been enjoying the popular Bicycle Sundays program. It opens a 6.5-mile stretch of the historic Bronx River Parkway to bicyclists, skaters, joggers, and walkers on a series of Sundays throughout the warmer weather months each year. Bicycle Sundays is one of Westchester’s longest-running and popular recreational programs.

Event Information
The series runs on the following dates and times:

July 12 and 26 (8 a.m. - noon)
Sept. 13, 20 and 27 (10 a.m. - 2 p.m.)
Oct. 4 (10 a.m. - 2 p.m.)

Bicycle Sundays is presented by Westchester County Parks and sponsored by Westchester Parks Foundation and its partners, through generous donations from co-presenting sponsors NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester and Con Edison, with Danny’s Cycles as the official Bicycle Sponsor.

During Bicycle Sundays, the parkway is open exclusively to non-motorized bicyclists, scooters and in-line skaters, e-bike class 1 only, plus walkers and joggers. Many points of entry and exit are along the way. from Exit 22 at the Westchester County Center to Exit 4 at Scarsdale Road in Yonkers. The round-trip distance is 13 miles. The road is closed to automobiles in that stretch of parkway. Admission is free and free parking will be available in the East Lot at the Westchester County Center.

Join Grace Lutheran Church on Friday, September 18 for a free outdoor family movie night for the community! We will be screening the original Toy Story movie on the back of the church and watching in our parking lot. Bring your own chair and we'll provide drinks and snacks! The movie is totally free but donations will be gratefully accepted to support the critical work of Lutheran Disaster Response. All are very welcome so please come and bring friends! Join documentarian Jack Kauffman for a screening of Uncorked Potential: The Wild Wines of Chile showcasing the food, culture, and wineries of regions throughout Chile. With a blend of breathtaking landscapes, a fascinating look inside the winemaking process, and interviews with the people who craft it, Uncorked Potential is an engaging exploration of wine for both the experienced sommelier and someone just learning viticulture and the wines of the world. There will be time for questions and answers at the end.

Uncorked Potential is a travel and wine docu-series exploring extraordinary winemaking regions around the world and is available for streaming via PBS. The previous episode featured wines from the Finger Lakes region in New York.

Light refreshments, including wines specifically selected from Chilean vineyards, will be served after the screening.

About the presenter

Jack Kauffman is an award-winning filmmaker, a certified sommelier, and an avid traveler. He has worked on vineyards in Andalucía, Spain and Colchagua Valley, Chile as well as oversaw a wine bar in Charleston, SC as the wine director and worked as a specialist at Sotheby's auction house in the wine department. Jack holds the WSET Level 3 rank with Merit, developed and ran the east coast business of a Napa Valley winery, studied at the IAU wine program in Aix-en-Provence, France, and graduated with distinction from Sonoma State University’s Wine Business course. When not traveling, he lives in Connecticut.

Freedom of Speech and Due Process are two of the fundamental rights of Americans, with an enormous amount of case law accompanying it. Learn some of the deeper nuances and challenge your assumptions of these cherished rights. We'll be joined by members of the New York County Lawyers Association to discuss the nature of First Amendment rights and their legal implementation in a lively presentation of recent real-life cases. You'll hear plaintiff and defendant arguments and the judicial decisions that followed. Moreover, you'll engage with thought-provoking questions and have the chance to weigh in and offer your opinions after discussing the cases and the larger issues in small groups.

Save the date for this moderated candidate forum in which an LWV-trained moderator from outside of CD 16 will pose questions to Joseph J. Cinquemani (Rep) and George S. Latimer (Dem), who are running in the general election for the office of U.S. Representative for New York's Congressional District 16. The candidate forum will offer an opportunity for candidate opening and closing statements as well as a question and answer format with timed responses in a way that does not promote or advance any candidate over another. The Hutchinson River is the ten mile long waterway that forms within the vicinity of Scarsdale and New Rochelle, traveling southward and serving as part of the demarcating line between Eastchester, New Rochelle, Mount Vernon, and Pelham. The Hutchinson River Parkway follows its route until it enters the Bronx and empties into Eastchester Bay and Long Island Sound. It has been an important part of Westchester dating back to Indigenous peoples. Join your friends and neighbors and the Hutchinson River Restoration Project team to learn more about this local watershed and the ongoing work to preserve the Hutchinson River for current and future generations. They will present some of the history of the river, showcase its natural beauty and ecological importance, and give a call to action for protecting its health.

The annual Cancer Support Team’s Gayle K. Lee Health Awareness Luncheon is just around the corner. Run, don’t walk, to get your tickets to the always informative luncheon about the latest news about beating the dreaded disease.

This year’s luncheon speaker on Thursday, October 15, 2026, in the Oval Room at the Scarsdale Golf Club in Hartsdale will be no exemption.

The 2026 featured speaker will be Dr. Andy Minn, MD, PhD, Chair of the Immuno-Oncology program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) in New York City. Dr. Minn also serves as Director of the Mark Foundation Center for Immunotherapy, Immune Signaling and Radiation.

A nationally recognized physician-scientist, Dr. Minn’s research focuses on understanding why some cancers resist immunotherapy and how emerging treatment strategies can improve patient outcomes. His groundbreaking work has been published in leading journals including Cell, Science, Nature and Immunity.
