Reckless Driver Wreaks Havoc and Fox Meadow Man Arrested for Harassment

blackice(Updated 1-8-14) An out of control Scarsdale driver caused big two accidents on Saturday afternoon January 4 before he was arrested for reckless driving. At 12:40 pm Kory Hutchinson, age 29 of Continental Road in Scarsdale, was driving a 1996 Ford SUV west on Mamaroneck Road when he crossed the double line and sideswiped a 2008 Toyota driven by a woman from Carmel, New York. The impact of the accident caused Hutchinson to lose control of his car and collide with a tree at 129 Carthage Road. A few hours later, Hutchinson was again on the road, this time in a Mercedes Benz in Greenacres. A witness reports that she saw Hutchinson driving at a high rate of speed down Berkeley Road. He went through the stop sign at Berkeley Road and Walworth Avenue and swerved onto Walworth, driving south. He then collided with a Jeep SUV that was stopped at the intersection on Walworth and then careened off the road and hit a Chrysler minivan parked in the driveway of 73 Walworth Avenue. No one was injured. Hutchinson, who is employed at Frankie and Fanucci's in Hartsdale, tested negative for drug or alcohol use.

While he was being processed for his arrest, two other people came to headquarters to report that their cars had been struck by Mr. Hutchinson's Mercedes Benz on Mamaroneck Road at Post Road a short time earlier. One of the victims photographed Mr. Hutchinson's car as he fled the scene.

A check of Hutchinson's record revealed that he is on parole for another offense. Police captured a partial history of the accidents from a CD from the car that contained the security system's player application.
He was arrested for reckless driving and released on $100 bail, paid by his father.

salcarpanzoArrest: The New Year got off to a nasty start for Salvatore Jon Carpanzo, age 55, who was arrested for Aggravated Harassment after he repeatedly threatened his wife, Marissa Carpanzo, age 56, both of Butler Road in Fox Meadow. Mrs. Carpanzo originally reported that she received threatening phone calls from her husband's boss, but revised her complaint to say that the calls were actually made by her husband. Shortly after midnight on 12/31 she received a call from her husband, in which he made "disturbing and vulgar" threats to "[have] her killed." She presented police with recordings of two hours of similar calls she received in the past. The threats were directed at Mrs. Carpanzo and her son Joseph Taranto and she wished to press charges against Salvatore Carpanzo.

Mrs. Carpanzo said she was having ongoing issues with her husband and requested a temporary order of protection. In response, police called Mr. Carpanzo into headquarters at 2 in the afternoon on 1/1 and he was read his Miranda Rights, interviewed, advised of the charges against him, and placed under arrest. He was transported to Scarsdale Village Court and arraigned by the Honorable Judge Galloway, who set bail at $12,500. The defendant was served a temporary order of protection in favor of Mrs. Carpanzo and her son. Mr. Carpanzo called bail administrator Mr. Gazmend Gashi to post a bond for the bail and Gashi arrived at Scarsdale Village Court at about 10:50 pm, paid the bail and Carpanzo was released.

Coincidentally, a guest who was staying at the Butler Road home reported that $270 was missing from her wallet. Kimberly Kelly complained that between 11 pm on 12/27 and 4 am on 12/28 someone took the cash from her wallet in the guest bedroom. Kelly was visiting Carpanzo's daughter for the holidays. Kelly pointed the finger at stepmom Marissa Carpanzo and said that Mrs. Carpanzo had stopped by to retrieve her belongings while Kelly was out for the night. However when police spoke to Mrs. Carpanzo she denied being at the house during the time period the funds went missing but said that her son, Jospeh Taranto, was in and out of the house that night.
