NJ Man Arrested for Trespassing, Child’s Head Stuck in Fence and Malfunctioning Elevator at Freightway Garage

Arrests: On June 13, a Spier Rd man reported a white man walking in his backyard after midnight. Samuel Ramos, Jr., 50, of Patterson, New Jersey, was subsequently arrested and charged with trespassing. He was released on his own recognizance with a court date of June 24.
On June 10, a person -- David G. Metch, 37, of White Plains -- surrendered himself at headquarters for violating an order of protection. He was arrested on charges of criminal contempt and aggravated harassment, and he was released on his own recognizance.
Stolen card
A Corell Rd. resident, on June 10, reported that a trading card that he had purchased but never received in December 2025 reappeared for sale on Ebay, listed out of a New Jersey location. Police advised the resident to report the matter to USPS police.
Fake products
On June 9, two individuals reported that someone approached them on Sprague Rd. and sold them fake Apple products, resulting in a loss of money.
Identity theft
On June 11, a resident came to headquarters to report that someone used his personal information to create a Sportsbook account.
Concerns
On June 10, a School Lane business owner reported receiving a suspicious email regarding two of the business' employees.
On June 11, a Crawford Lane resident reported that he was not home but a male had been ringing his doorbell and was now sitting on his property for over 10 minutes. The resident advised that he was not expecting anyone. The male was described as a white man, wearing jeans and a hat. Upon arrival, police observed a person matching the description leaving the listed address. He stated he was supposed to work at the house directly across the street but had the wrong address. Police observed the party being greeted at the front door by the resident of the correct address.
On June 13, a caller reported that an unknown man dropped a potato chip bag on Chase Road. The caller believed the bag contained an unknown substance. Patrol responded and observed the potato chip bag. Patrol inspected the bag and observed what appeared to be garbage. No substances were observed in the bag. The bag was discarded in the nearest waste receptacle.
Trespassing
On June 12, a Cambridge Road man reported a trespassing incident that occurred the previous night. The man presented footage recorded by his security cameras the previous evening between approximately 10:30 and 11 pm. The recording showed a dark colored Lexus sedan pull into and park in the driveway. An elderly male who appeared somewhat disheveled and disoriented exited the vehicle, activated a flashlight at the front door before approaching it for a short amount of time and then walked back to his vehicle, kicked the front tires and left in the vehicle. Approximately ten minutes later the same vehicle returned, remained parked for another ten minutes and left traveling north on the roadway. A check of call history at the location did not indicate any previous owner or tenant who might have been returning due to some disoriented state.
Homeless
On June 13, a homeless man on Popham Road was offered assistance, but the man declined.
Malfunction
On June 8, police and firefighters shut down a malfunctioning elevator at Freightway Garage after a commuter complained about being stuck on the fifth floor with a non-working elevator. Firefighters confirmed the elevator was traveling to random floors instead of the selected ones.
On June 11, an elevator mechanic working on the Freightway Garage elevator got stuck inside a stalled car. Firefighters had to open the door so the mechanic could get out.
Employees
A Secor Road business owner reported that security cameras captured footage of one of his employees placing Band-aids on another employee's car June 10.
Jewelry
A Garth Rd. business owner came to headquarters and asked to document two jewelry purchases from two different sources June 11.
Gas prices
On June 14, police received a report of people arguing in the parking lot of the Post Road firehouse. Patrol arrived and made contact with a woman speaking on her phone.
She stated she was yelling due to frustration over gas prices in the area.
Civil matter
On June 10, a Wilmot Rd. man reported to headquarters to report an issue. He advised that he and his sister are co-trustees to a bank account and building in New York City. He advised that the account, which was created for the building expenses, was emptied out of the over $93,000 within it. The bank investigated the issue and determined it was the man's sister who had taken out the money over a year-long period. The man reported that she had no business with the building and did not receive approval to withdraw those funds. The man wanted to document the incident for civil litigation to get the money returned for the building's operation.

Police notified Verizon about fallen wires on Carthage Road and Morris Lane June 8, and Rugby Lane. June 9,
A dead animal was retrieved from Hochberg Pond on Olmsted Rd. June 8.
Police asked a driver to move a car parked too close to an Elm Road intersection June 11.
Police helped a Boniface Circle patient reunite with her husband after she accidentally locked herself out of her car on June 12.
On June 12, police issued summonses to improperly parked cars on Burgess Road.
Police moved traffic cones from blocking Garden Road after the cones blew over June 12.

A driver reported losing a license plate somewhere in the Village June 11.

A passerby found a debit card on Chase Road June 13. Police vouchered it for safekeeping.
Firefighters
On June 9, firefighters received a call about a small child with its head stuck in a metal fence on Hamilton Road. FD units responded to a report of a child with their head trapped in a fence. Firefighters used EDraulic spreaders to widen the gap between fence posts, freeing the child's head. The child was handed over to Scarsdale Volunteer Ambulance Corps for assessment.
On June 11, firefighters disconnected a wall-hung hot water boiler in a Scarsdale Avenue business due to carbon monoxide release related to the unit's poor venting.

On June 11, firefighters stood by for Con Edison at the site of fallen wires on Bradford Road.
On June 12, firefighters helped a Fenimore Road resident get back in bed after the resident accidentally fell to the floor.
On June 13, a carbon monoxide alarm sounded in a lower level space on Scarsdale Avenue. Firefighters stood by for Con Edison. They observed that some air sealing work that had been done on a newly installed wall-hung hot water boiler. It was discovered that the exhaust coupling on top of the boiler had a leak. The unit was shut down. Firefighters ventilated the space with positive pressure until the atmosphere was at a safe level. The building's plumber took the coupling apart and found that a rubber gasket was improperly installed. The coupling was repaired, and the unit was turned on to verify proper ventilation. It passed for safe operation, and building occupants were informed of the cause, condition and correction. The lower-level occupant was informed for a second time about keeping egress doorways clear of equipment.
On June 14, a Sheldrake Road child accidentally got locked inside a bathroom. Firefighters opened the door to free the child, unharmed.

Yonkers Driver Charged with DWI, 75 Kids on Beechwood Lane, Trees Damage Cars in the Village and a Chicken Fight

Police arrested Michael Daniel Mayer, 49, of Yonkers on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense), refusal to take a breath test, operation of a motor vehicle without insurance, driving an unregistered motor vehicle and a stopping/standing violation.
Identity theft and fraud
A Brittany Close resident reported that someone opened a credit card in his name, using a Florida address, on June 2.
On June 3, an Oak Way woman received an acceptance letter congratulating her on her admission to a graduate school in Kansas. There was also a financial aid application in progress under her name. The woman, however, never applied to attend graduate school at that institution. The financial aid application was revoked.
On June 3, a Palmer Ave. woman reported that she was tricked into providing a copy of her passport and Social Security number to someone online.
On June 3, a Kingston Rd. man reported he was tricked into providing someone with his banking information.
Scam
On June 3, a Kingston Rd. woman reported she fell victim to an elder scam and wired money in excess of $5,000 to a person pretending to be an official.
On June 4, a Montrose Rd. woman reported that she attempted tp purchase roofing tiles from a Facebook Marketplace seller in Texas. She sent a deposit of approximately $550 for the tiles, awaiting shipment. The seller then stopped contacting the buyer. Police in Texas informed the woman that the address used by the seller was a vacant rural lot. It was revealed to be a scam.
Neighbors
A Mamaroneck Rd. woman, who was in New York City, reported that a neighbor sent a threatening message to her, and she was fearful for her husband's safety, since he was still at home, June 2. The message concerned six chickens and the sale of a house. The woman said she was going to give the neighbor the chickens but after learning how the neighbor would treat them, she decided to give them to someone else. This action caused the neighbor to send a text message advising the woman to watch out because her actions would have consequences in the world. According to police, no specific threats were made at any time. Patrol then spoke to the neighbor who advised that she was very frustrated over the chicken situation. She admitted sending the message but felt her meaning was misinterpreted. The neighbor advised that she would never hurt the calling party and apologized for the misunderstanding. The neighbor was advised to have no further contact with the woman.
Windows
On June 5, a Paddington Rd. man reported his front windows were broken. Police and a contractor observed the damage, which was only on the windows' outer panes, leading both to conclude the damage resulted from a manufacturing defect.
Help
Police helped a resident locked out of their home on Edgewood Rd. get back in her house June 1.
Cars and roadways
A stop sign fell on Hutchinson Ave. and Meadow Rd. June 1. Police notified the highway department.
A car was repossessed from a Lockwood Rd. address June 3.
Numerous trees fell throughout the Village June 6. Police taped off affected areas, called Con Edison or Verizon if wires were affected, and notified highway workers for tree removal from roadways. Two fallen trees landed on cars on Woodland Pl. and Chase Rd.and Barry Rd.

A car door was open on Brite Ave. June 6. Police closed the door. On June 7, police and utility companies and highway workers continued to address the fallen trees and branches.
Four car accidents were officially reported in the Village this week.
Animals
On June 3, a Leatherstocking Ln. resident reported someone was walking a dog on the resident's property beyond the public right of way. The resident allegedly asked the dog owner to curb his dog and was met with slurs. Police looked for people walking dogs in the neighborhood, but they did not find any.
On June 5, a cat owner was looking for a lost cat via an air tag. The tag indicated the cat was at a Scarsdale address. The property owner allowed the cat owner to look for the cat outside on the property. The cat was found, but it ran off.
A dead animal was found in Audrey Hochberg Pond on Olmsted Rd. June 7. Police notified the sanitation department for removal.
Village code
Patrol removed illegally posted signs from the public right of way on Wheelock Rd. June 1, Hutchinson Ave. June 3 and Canterbury Rd. June 3. Summonses were issued as appropriate.
On June 6, a work crew was working outside of permissible hours on Lockwood Rd. Police issued two summonses -- one inthe early morning and one in the evening.
Police dispersed about 75 kids from a Beechwood Ln. lawn June 6.
Lost and found
A commuter found white earbuds on a Metro North train and gave them to police June 3. Police gave them to MTA police.

Firefighters
Firefighters helped an Edgewood resident get upstairs in her house June 1.
Firefighters stood by for Con Edison at the site of a gas leak on Catherine Rd. June 1.
On June 2, a driver struck a deer, and then the car caught on fire on the Bronx River Parkway. Firefighters extinguished the fire, made sure the driver was safe, and cleaned up debris from the accident.
On June 4, firefighters assisted at a car accident on Hutchinson Ave and Meadow Rd.
A minor leak in a Christie Place sprinkler system was detected June 4. Firefighters advised building management to repair the system.
On June 4, firefighters assisted at a car accident on Post Rd.
Paper was found burning in a fireplace inside an unoccupied Richbell Rd. structure. Firefighters extinguished the fire, notified the owner and secured the structure June 5.
An elevator stalled in a Christie Place building, with two workers inside, June 5. Firefighters manually opened the elevator to release the occupants. They put the elevator out of service and recommended repairs.
On June 6, firefighters assisted at a car accident on Post Rd.
On June 6, a Cornell St. resident reported he was dismantling computer equipment to destroy CPUs. All equipment was discharged. One iPad mini was broken in half and reported to be possibly smoking. Firefighters on scene noted no smoke or fire present. Computer equipment was in the driveway away from the house. The resident advised he would dispose of the equipment in an electric waste dumpster. Firefighters hit the iPad with a water can as a precaution.
On June 6 and 7, firefighters assisted with numerous fallen trees, branches and wires on Village streets due to a rainstorm.
On June 7, firefighters were dispatched to a sulfur odor in a Paddington Rd. house. After investigating, it was determined to be coming from a child's battery powered mobility device that was recently charged. Firefighters deployed meters and recorded readings of 20 ppm of carbon monoxide near the device. No other sources of CO were on that level in the dwelling; so the reading was determined to be a false reading from the overheated battery. The device was removed from the dwelling, and ventilation was performed. After readings were absent, the house was checked again and determined to be all clear.
A clothes dryer caught fire in a Carthage Ln. house June 7. The fire was out before firefighters arrived. They removed the dryer and ventilated smoke from the house.

Police: Stolen Car Out of Greenwich Recovered, A Death and Graffiti Found at Hyatt Field

Patrol observed a parked black Land Rover Range Rover bearing a Connecticut license plate. Police checked the plate and it was returned as belonging to a 2025 black Ford Explorer. Due to the improper plate, police did a check on the car's VIN number and learned that the car was reported as stolen out of Greenwich. Greenwich police were contacted, Greenwich police sent one of their detectives to Scarsdale for follow-up and removal of the stolen car.
Graffiti
The Hyatt Field men's bathroom wall, on Boulevard, was found to be defaced with graffiti May 31. It was last seen clean and without graffiti on May 29.
Package
On May 27, a Lincoln Rd. woman reported that she believed a package was delivered by UPS and then removed from the delivery site. She said she was not expecting a package, however, so the details of the supposed theft were unclear. Police spoke with the woman's son, who said he would go to his mother's house to help determine if a package was actually stolen or if the incident might have been related to a mistaken delivery.
Missing check
On May 28, a Johnson Rd. woman reported that she placed an unaddressed envelope with a check inside in her mailbox for her cleaning lady to pick up. However, her cleaning lady later informed her that when she sent her husband to pick up the check, it was not in the mailbox. The woman then reviewed video doorbell footage which showed an unknown female, possibly the mail carrier, removing the envelope and placing a postmarked advertisement circular in the mailbox. The woman attempted to contact the post office in regard to the matter but was unsuccessful. Out of precaution, the woman called her bank and stopped payment on the check.
Attempted car break-in
On May 28, a Heathcote Rd. resident reported that a Jeep Wrangler stopped in his driveway. Three men got out of the car and attempted to open the door handles of cars parked in his driveway. All car doors were locked, and the men left in their car.
Scam
On May 26, a Harvest Dr. mother reported that her daughter was the victim of a scam involving gift cards valued at $800 total for Macy's and $2,000 total for Sephora.
Welfare check and death
A son was worried about his father, who lives on Weaver St., because he had not heard from his father in about a month. On May 26, police and the son went to the house. They knocked on the door, but there was no answer. Police said firefighters could force entry into the house to check on the father. The son refused. He said he would contact his mother, who lives in New York City, because she has a key to the house. On May 27, the 81-year-old Weaver St. father was found dead in his house.
Civil matter
A Madison Rd. tenant reported that a backhoe was damaging his garden May 26. It was determined that a backhoe was doing sewer work, for which the landlord of the house had a proper permit from the Village. Police advised the tenant and landlord to review their lease agreement regarding work to be done on the property.
Domestic matter
A child called police because of heated emotions involving her parents during a custody exchange related to an ongoing custody dispute May 27. The was in good health and appeared to be well taken care of.
Insurance fraud
An Innes Rd. resident reported that his address was being used for a fraudulent car insurance policy listing five unknown vehicles on May 29. The resident informed Progressive of the fraudulent use of his name and address.
Disorderly youth
Approximately 3,000 disorderly youths were reported in Tuckahoe May 29. Police assisted Tuckahoe police, along with police from other jurisdictions, to get the situation under control.
Computer
On May 30, a Palmer Ave. woman reported that she was nervous about her computer possibly being hacked. She advised that in mid- April she received a "weird pop-up message" on her computer. She advised that since that time she has been receiving numerous different emails, pop-up messages, and other unsettling computer issues. She advised that she has had no financial losses, but she wanted to document the incident in case of any future issues.
Road rage
On May 29, while conducting traffic enforcement in a school zone on Mamaroneck Rd., a driver approached police to report a road rage incident. The driver stated that a man was following his vehicle too closely and continuously sounding the horn as he proceeded through the school zone at the middle school. Once past the middle school, and after a few vehicles had separated the two parties, both vehicles came to a stop at a traffic light. At this time, the man got out of his car and began running up to the reporting driver's vehicle. This led to the reporting driver also stepping out of his vehicle. After words were exchanged, each party photographed the other's license plate, and the parties went their separate ways. Due to
the interaction the reporting driver requested ride bys of his residence.

Police Report: Tools, Tomatoes and Wallet Stolen - Woman Finds Man Praying on her Doorstep

Stolen tools: On May 19, a contractor building a house on Heathcote Rd. reported that numerous tools had been stolen from inside the job site overnight. At least 30 items, valued at over $11,000 were reported as missing.
Stolen tomatoes
On May 18, a Ramsey Rd. man reported that 11 tomatoes had been stolen from his garden. Police advised the man to install a video camera to document any thefts.
Stolen wallet
On May 19, a person walked into headquarters to report that her wallet had been stolen sometime in the past few days. Once she realized the wallet was missing, she checked its location via an AirTag inside it. It showed the wallet was in Port Chester. She did not want to follow up with Port Chester police. Scarsdale police recommended cancelling all credit cards.
Furniture switch
On May 18, an Ardmore Rd. man reported that he received furniture that he said he ordered from Italy. However, when he opened the box, he discovered that the furniture he ordered had been replaced by counterfeit furniture, made in China.
Vandalism
On May 18, vandalism was reported at Brite Ave. park. Specifically, a metal anti-pry seal was damaged.
Prayer
On May 19, a Corell Rd. homeowner reported a man in a button-down shirt and khaki pants was praying in her driveway. The homeowner showed police doorbell camera footage of the described occurrence and stated the man had left without incident. While on scene the homeowner received a text message from an individual who had just made a food delivery to the residence. The sender apologized and stated it was "prayer time."
Help
A Con Edison employee was banging on a Taunton Rd front door, stating he needed to perform a gas safety inspection May 19. Police verified the employee's credentials and the employee was granted access to the house, escorted by the housekeeper.
On May 21, police called a taxi for a man walking on Post Rd. who was trying to get back to Mt. Vernon. Police covered the taxi cost as a courtesy.
Homeless
Police asked a homeless man to leave the garbage room of a Depot Place building May 23.
Suspicious
On May 22, a Claremont Rd. resident showed police security footage of a man running through the yard on May 20. Police told the resident they would provide extra ride-bys of the house as a precaution.
Cars and roadways
Nails on Cooper Rd. were causing flat tires May 18. Police closed by until a streetsweeper was able to remove the nails.
Police notified Con Edison about a low-hanging wire on Jefferson Rd. May 18.
Police removed a fallen branch from Chase Rd. May 19.
A landscaper dropped mulch in the roadway on Olmsted Rd. May 19. Police placed traffic cones around the area and stood by while landscapers cleaned up the mulch.
A car ran out of gas on Brewster Rd. May 19. The driver was waiting for a friend to bring gas to the car.
On May 20, police issued a 49-year-old Eastchester driver summonses for driving with a suspended registration, unlicensed driving and driving without insurance following a traffic stop on Post Rd.
Verizon was notified about a fallen wire on Weaver St. May 20.

On May 22, an Edgewood School official called police with concerns about a possibly "dangerous" cat on school grounds. She was fearful that it could injure children. Patrol did not observe the cat to be sick or injured. Patrol provided the school administration with contact information for local humane societies. While on scene, police attempted to locate the owner of the cat with negative results. Patrol told the school administration to refrain from touching the animal and to avoid letting kids near the cat.

Police removed illegally posted signs from Leatherstocking Lane May 18, Mamaroneck Rd. May 20, Chase and Fairview roads May 22, Popham and Crane roads May 24 and Scarsdale Ave. May 25. Summonses were issued as appropriate.
Police issued summonses to landscapers using gas-powered leaf blowers on Whig Rd. May 20.
On May 22, after noise complaints from neighbors, police dispersed guests from a large youth gathering on Stonehouse Rd.

Firefighters
On May 19, a dog was stuck between fences on Greenacres Ave. The dog freed itself before firefighters arrived.
On May 19, firefighters assisted at a car accident at Heathcote Rd. and Weaver St.
On May 19, while volunteer firefighters were conducting drills and practicing stretching hose lines on Secor Rd., one volunteer's 11-year-old son fell down on the ground and cut his hands and knees. Firefighters applied first aid, and Scarsdale Volunteer Ambulance Corps cleaned and checked the wounds.
On May 20, firefighters were dispatched to Heathcote School for a commercial carbon monoxide alarm activation. Firefighters encountered elevated carbon monoxide levels inside the custodial office, emanating from a dried shower trap inside the custodial bathroom. Water was poured into the drain, and the area was ventilated until CO levels were near 0ppm. On-site custodial personnel stated that this condition has occurred previously from the same shower drain. Firefighters checked the area with four gas meters, yielding negative results.
On May 20, firefighters helped EMS workers get a person to their feet on Christie Place.
On May 20, firefighters shut down a HVAC unit in a Brewster Rd. attic because it was emitting a burning odor.
Firefighters shut a malfunctioning steam heating unit in a Brewster Rd. house and advised to have the unit serviced May 20.
On May 22, a Quaker Center resident accidentally locked her purse inside her car. Firefighters used a lockout kit to make entry into the car so the resident could retrieve her purse.
Firefighters assisted at a car accident on the Hutchinson River Parkway May 22.
Firefighters responded to a transformer fire on Griffen Avenue May 24. The fire occurred near the Quaker Ridge Golf Course entrance. Three primary wires were down and burning. Con Edison was notified and advised to respond. Firefighters shut down the roadway and made contact with residents in the immediate area. The primary wires affected were in the Town of Mamaroneck. The Town of Mamaroneck fire department was informed of the incident and responded. Police closed down Griffen Ave.

On May 24, firefighters shut down a malfunctioning HVAC system in an East Parkway building and advised the owner to service the unit before using it again.
On May 25, firefighters assisted at a car accident on the Bronx River Parkway.

Bronx River Pathway.Arrested
On May 11, following a traffic stop for speeding in a school zone on Mamaroneck Rd., police arrested John Holzberg, 32, of Scarsdale, on charges of speeding in a school zone and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle due to a suspended license. While checking Holzberg's background, police discovered an active arrest warrant issued out of Norwalk, Connecticut. Police in that jurisdiction were contacted for possible pickup from Westchester County Jail. Police issued Holzberg an appearance ticket for the vehicle and traffic offenses committed in Scarsdale, returnable on May 13 at Scarsdale Village Justice Court.
Stolen
A contractor building a house at a Heathcote Rd. construction site reported that 15-20 tools were stolen from the job site on May 11.
Scam
A Heathcote Rd. man said someone posing as a Verizon employee contacted him and offered free services and a cell phone. The alleged "employee" then asked for the man's debit card information. At that time, the man realized it was a scam and hung up.
Domestic Matters
On May 11, a Village man reported concerns that his wife is driving her car daily. Police provided recommendations on how to address the situation. Police also advised that since the car is registered solely in the wife's name, she has the right to drive it.
Disorderly Conduct
On May 14, an East Parkway business owner asked for help with a female customer who was yelling and threatening employees over a refund disagreement. The female customer peacefully left the property without incident, although she refused to identify herself. She was advised that the business would no longer welcome her on its property in the future.
On May 16, a 7-Eleven employee on Scarsdale Ave. reported that teenagers were acting in a disorderly fashion and threatening her. Patrol arrived on scene and spoke with teenagers in the store who were causing a ruckus. Patrol had them apologize to the employee.
Welfare Check
On May 13, police checked the welfare of a Palmer Ave. woman after her brother said he was unable to reach her for two days. She was okay and told police she would call her brother.
Wrong House
On May 14, a Wakefield Rd. resident described an unusual incident that concerned her. Police went to the house and reviewed doorbell camera footage of an unmarked white work van pulling into her driveway. The operator exited the vehicle and removed a ladder and drop cloth. The operator shortly thereafter loaded the equipment back into the van and left the area. Patrol advised the woman that it was most likely a worker who came to the wrong address.
Suspicious
A Sheldrake Rd. resident reported that a suspicious man came to his house and purported to be a meter reader May 15. He allegedly said he was selling meter reading services. The resident thought it was suspicious, since the man lacked a badge, identification, uniform or paperwork. Police advised to call back if the man appeared again.
Broken Window
A car parked in the Dean Field parking lot at Scarsdale HIgh School sustained a broken windshield from a baseball. Police advised the owner to speak with school officials.
Cars and Roadways
A car parked in an Overhill Rd. backyard without permission was moved after police located the owner May 11.
On May 11, police issued a 62-year-old White Plains driver summonses for driving with a suspended registration and an unregistered motor vehicle following a traffic stop on Heathcote Rd.
On May 11, police notified Verizon about a low-hanging wire on Sprague Rd.
On May 13, around 2:30 a.m., police noticed a car's lights had been left on on Brookline Rd. Police contacted the owner, and she turned them off.
Patrol removed a fallen branch from Heathcote Rd. May 14.
On May 14, police issued a 72-year-old Pelham driver summonses for driving with a suspended registration and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle following a traffic stop on Post Rd.

A driver locked his keys inside his car on East Parkway May 17. Police reached into the car through a partially open window and retrieved the keys.
Dogs
A mobile groomer working at a Forest Lane house reported that the customer's dog got loose and ran away May 14. Police helped look for the dog but were unable to locate it.
On May 15, Greenacres Ave. residents complained about a neighbor's barking dog. Police contacted the neighbor who was on his way home to bring the dog inside.
On May 16, an 18-year-old White Plains man walked into headquarters to report that a dog attacked and bit him on Greendale Rd. He also reported getting into an argument with the dog's owner after the attack. Police provided him with a dog-bite form and reported the incident to the Westchester County health department.
Lost and Found
A resident reported losing his NYPD surgeon ID May 11.
An unattended briefcase was found near the intersection of Boniface Circle and Spencer Place after a caller reported it May 15.
A purse and jacket were found on an Olmsted Rd. bench May 16. Police identified the owner and returned the items.
Firefighters
On May 13, a Chateaux Circle resident reported that a bathroom vanity light fixture had been intermittently smoking since 2025. Firefighters checked the fixture and noticed burnt marks around one of the bulbs. Firefighters advised the resident to change the bulb, but the resident refused to do so. The resident also reported that one stove knob was missing. The resident asked firefighters to verify that no gas was leaking because of the missing stove knob. Firefighters advised replacing the knob, and they verified there was no gas leak.

Firefighters helped a driver get back inside the driver's car after an accidental lockout in a Scarsdale Ave. parking lot.
On May 16, firefighters accessed a property on Quentin Rd. after a carbon monoxide alarm activated while the homeowners were away. They found elevated CO levels in the house due to a faulty propane-fired boiler. They shut the boiler, ventilated the house and stood by for Con Edison.
