Stolen:On Feb. 27, a 7-Eleven employee on Scarsdale Ave. reported a customer ate food in the store without paying for it and left the location.
Identity theft
On Feb. 24, a Harwood Court resident reported four fraudulent transactions due to stolen credit cards.
On Feb. 26, a Parkfield Rd. resident reported fraudulent charges on one of his credit cards from Dec. 34, 2024 to Jan. 31, 2025. Four charges were in the name of a former gardener fired on Nov. 3, 2024, and two charges were in the name of an unknown person.
On Feb. 28, an Olmsted Rd. resident reported that numerous American Express accounts were fraudulently opened in his name. Cash was withdrawn from one of the accounts, and American Express was investigating.
Speaker
A speaker was abandoned on a resident’s property on River Rd. Feb. 28. The resident said he would dispose of it Feb. 28.
Windows
Broken windows were found on a second-floor property on East Parkway Feb. 28. Police accompanied a bank manager to investigate the broken windows.
Help
Police locked an Edgewood Rd. front door for a resident who was in the hospital Feb. 28.
Scofflaw
On Feb. 25, police encountered a driver with scofflaw status due to unpaid parking tickets on Scarsdale Ave. The driver thought the tickets had been resolved; however, Village Justice Court revealed otherwise. Police helped the driver contact court employees to clear the tickets.
Accidents
Two car accidents were officially reported in the Village this week.
Dog
A loose dog was dropped off at headquarters March 2. Police contacted the owner, who sent a neighbor to pick up the dog.
Village code
On Feb. 24, a Burgess Rd. resident reported noise from a neighbor’s construction equipment was keeping her and her family awake. Police issued a Village code summons for the noise violation.
On Feb. 27, noise from a generator used to operate a pump at the Burgess Rd. construction site was causing noise in violation of Village code. Police issued a summons.
On March 1, police removed an illegally posted sign from Brookby Rd. and issued a summons.
Firefighters
On Feb. 24, smoke from a cooking pot filled a Wayside Lane house. Firefighters removed the pot of burnt food and ventilated the house.
On Feb. 27, firefighters investigated a Sheldrake Rd. house for possible carbon monoxide. The resident said a chimney sweep company reported signs of corrosion in the exhaust vent for the water heater, which might allow carbon monoxide to escape. Firefighters determined that the corrosion had not fully penetrated the ductwork. They metered the areas while the unit was in operation and determined that no carbon monoxide was escaping. They advised the resident to contact an HVAC company to replace ductwork as necessary.

Police: Trespasser Uses Grill at Circle Road Home to Keep Warm

Arrested: On Feb. 23, police conducted a traffic stop of a blue four-door sedan due to speeding on Post Rd. The driver – Luis E. Aguirrepanama, 27, of White Plains – ended up being arrested on charges of using a rented or loaned vehicle without an ignition interlock device, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operation of a motor vehicle by an unlicensed driver and speeding. These charges were issued after police checked the defendant’s license and realized it had been revoked and that an interlock device restriction had been issued. Following the defendant’s arrest, he was released on his own recognizance and issued an appearance ticket for Village Justice Court.
Domestic matter
A mother requested a welfare check of her three children who were staying with their father in Quaker Ridge Feb. 18. The father told police he and his ex-wife have shared custody of the children, and each parent is entitled to 10-minute phone call with the parent whom they are not staying with during such visitations. During that day’s call, the father alleged that the mother began talking with the children about their father; so he cut the conversation short. Police checked on the kids – the son was sleeping in his bed and two daughters were OK but seemed upset. The mother was informed.
Trespassing
On Feb. 18. A Circle Rd. resident reported that someone moved his outdoor chairs around his patio and utilized his grill with propane tanks in the overnight period. The resident thought the person did this in an effort to stay warm.
Disorderly behavior
On Feb. 21, a customer was cursing with workers at Village Hall. Workers called police but managed to deescalate the situation before police arrived. The issue had nothing to do with Village matters, workers said. Police asked the customer to leave Village Hall.
Safety
The security staff of a doctor who lives in Scarsdale reported that a former patient was making verbal threats against the doctor Feb. 17.
Police conducted burglary patrol this week and advised several residents that their garage
doors were open, which posed a security risk.
Photos
A woman in Village Center reported a man was taking photos of the Village and of her, she believed, and she did not like it, Feb. 23. The man said he was taking pictures of the Village and “expressing his constitutional right.” Police separated the individuals and asked them to go their separate ways.
Cars and roadways
On Feb. 17, tress fell on Obry Rd. and Sherbrooke Rd. The highway department was dispatched. Con Edison was called where wires were affected. The Village-owned tree on Sherbrooke Rd. hit a fence and caused damage.
On Feb. 17, police blocked a section of Weaver St. while New Rochelle officials and Con Edison removed a fallen tree on wires.
A street sign at Palmer Ave. and Mamaroneck Rd. blew off its pole. Police removed the sign from the roadway and contacted the highway department Feb. 17.
The highway department was called to fill a pothole on Mamaroneck Rd. Feb. 17.
A wooden fence blew into the road on Weaver St. Feb. 17. Police notified authorities in New Rochelle as it was on the New Rochelle side of the street.
Con Edison was notified about a low-hanging wire on Webster Rd. Feb. 17.
Workers parked a white van in a Church Lane driveway while looking for an address Feb. 18. Police advised them to move the van so the resident’s nanny could leave the driveway.
On Feb. 18, police notified the highway department about a damaged “no parking” sign on Garth Rd.
On Feb. 18, police reported a Mamaroneck Rd. pothole to the highway department for repair when a driver sustained a flat tire after driving through it.
A driver with a smoking car engine pulled into the public safety parking lot to wait for a tow Feb. 19.
A car hit a street sign and affected wires at Popham Rd. and East Parkway Feb. 20. Police notified the highway department and Con Edison for repair.
Police notified Verizon about a low-hanging wire on Madison Rd. Feb. 20.
Police helped a driver with a disabled car on Mamaroneck Rd. Feb. 21.
A caller reported a low-flying drone might be interfering with pedestrians in Village center Feb. 21. The drone was gone when police arrived.
On Feb. 22, police conducted a traffic stop after observing a driver utilizing a cell phone while driving on East Parkway.
The 43-year-old Yonkers driver’s license was determined to have been suspended. Police issued appropriate summonses.
Police notified Verizon about a low-hanging wire on Carthage Rd. Feb. 23.
A driver hit a pole on Post Rd. Feb. 23. Police called Con Edison for pole evaluation and a tow for removal of the car.

Police told a solicitor on Carthage Rd. that he needed a permit to solicit in the Village Feb. 17.
On Feb. 18, police told a job site manager that he needed to have a work permit available and on display while conducting work and closing the roadway at Harvest Dr. and Mamaroneck Rd. The manager did have a work permit but he had not given it to his workers for display.
A Burgess Rd. resident complained of noise from a constantly-running generator at a neighbor’s construction site Feb. 23. Police observed to generator to be powering equipment needed to keep the site from flooding. Police advised the resident to contact the building department with her complaint.
Lost and found
A wallet was found on East Parkway Feb. 17.
On Feb. 21, a Post Rd. resident reported the loss of one of his firearms Feb. 21.
On Feb. 21, a person reported that a lost cell phone was pinging at a Chesterfield Rd. address. The resident claimed she was not in possession of any lost phones. Nearby neighbors claimed the same. Police advised the person to contact the service provider.
On Feb. 22, a caller reported finding a gold earring on Chase Rd.
Firefighters
A branch was hanging on wires on Corell Rd. Feb. 17. Firefighters notified Con Edison for removal.

Police Report: Rochambeau Road Burglary and a Drug Bust in New Rochelle

Help
A Larch Lane man reported a disagreement with an ex-girlfriend regarding property of hers that the man still had on Feb. 3. Police advised the man to contact them to stand by if a property exchange would be set up.
Drones
A man in an orange and white car was flying a drone over the Village Feb. 4 and Feb. 7. He reportedly worked for a company called Homes.com. He told police on Feb. 7 that he was obtaining drone footage for advertising purposes.
Cars and roadways
On Feb. 3, police called a tow for a disabled car on Post Rd.
On Feb. 3, police conducted a traffic stop for an expired inspection sticker. The driver was suffering from a medical condition; so police called a taxi to take her home because police did not feel it was safe for her to drive.
On Feb. 4, while conducting traffic enforcement in the vicinity of Mamaroneck and Catherine roads, police observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed. The speed was confirmed by radar in excess of the posted school zone speed limit. Police initiated a traffic stop in the vicinity of Mamaroneck and Canterbury roads. Police made contact with the operator of the car who identified herself with a NYS Driver's License. A DMV check yielded a suspended status. Police advised the operator of the status, and she said she had been unaware. Police issued two summonses. The driver parked the vehicle at her employer's residence and stated her husband would come to pick her up.
On Feb. 4, patrol was conducting traffic enforcement in the vicinity of Post Rd. and Huntington Ave. Police observed a white Jeep SUV traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicles speed was confirmed at 55 mph in a posted 30 mph zone. Patrol conducted a traffic stop in the vicinity of Post and Rugby roads. Four summonses were issued as a result.

On Feb. 7, police asked drivers to move their cars to locations that would not block traffic on Harvest Dr.

Neighbors complained about noise coming from a Crane Rd. house Feb. 3. The homeowner said her son was bouncing a lacrosse ball outside. She told her son to come in the house.
Police removed an illegally posted sign from the Village right of way on Cushman Rd. Feb. 8.
A man was dumping trash in the dumpsters at Roosevelt School Feb. 9. Police spoke with the man and advised him not to dispose of waste on school property.
Lost and found
A woman reported losing her phone and receiving a ping notification that the phone was located at Post and Farley roads Feb. 8. Police went to the location and did not find the phone. No one was near the intersection.
Firefighters
On Feb. 3, firefighters helped a Garth Rd. resident pump water from their basement.
On Feb. 5, firefighters stood by for Con Edison at the site of a gas leak on Murray Hill Rd.
On Feb. 6, firefighters shut down a faulty hot water heater in a Montgomery Rd. house and stood by for Con Edison to check for elevated carbon monoxide levels.
On Feb. 9, firefighters reported a sewage line block to the highway department and advised residents not to use any water sources until the block was cleared.
Firefighters helped EMS workers lift a patient and transport him to an ambulance Feb. 9.

On February 12, 2025, Detectives from the New Rochelle Police Criminal Investigations Division executed a search warrant at an apartment located at 50 Sickles Avenue. The operation resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs, cash, and firearms, as well as the arrest of two individuals. During the search, Detectives discovered and confiscated the following items:
• 124 glassine envelopes containing a mixture of heroin and fentanyl
• $7,430 in suspected drug proceeds
• One loaded Smith & Wesson .40 caliber pistol reported stolen from Georgia
• One high-capacity magazine
As a result of this operation, two individuals were arrested and charged with multiple offenses:

Police Report: Tip Jar Stolen, Wheels Damaged and Unruly Teens

Stolen tips: An East Parkway business manager advised that someone stole a tip jar from the business on Feb. 10. It contained an unspecified amount of tips.
Wheels
An East Parkway man reported that someone tried to remove his car’s wheels and caused damage to the car Feb. 12. He said that when leaving his job located in the Bronx, he found multiple wheel locks missing on his rear tires. A tire was damaged as a result of the wheel lock removal. He then said he was unsure if the damage occurred at work or overnight when he was parked in Freightway Garage. Garage video surveillance was reviewed, with negative results. The man was advised to contact NYPD to report the incident.
Teens
An East Parkway business advised there were two disorderly teens in the store who were refusing to leave Feb. 14. Police advised the kids to leave the business, and they did without incident.
On Feb. 14, a caller advised that she believed a Scarsdale Ave. business sold alcohol to teens. Police went to the store and spoke with employees. They stated the individual in question provided an ID indicating he was 21 years old. The ID was then scanned into the store’s system, confirming the patron was able to purchase alcohol. Patrol canvassed the area and did not observe any youths in possession of alcohol.
On Feb. 16, a Scarsdale Ave. business reported that kids came into the store and attempted to purchase cigarettes with fake IDs. Employees reported the kids were causing a disruption. The youths allegedly loitered in the store without purchasing items and when asked to leave, they threw snowballs at the front door of the establishment. The youths
had vacated the area prior to patrols’ arrival.
Airtag
A Valley Road woman reported that she believed someone placed an Airtag in her car Feb. 10. She said an Apple Airtag had been following her for an extended period of time yesterday. Patrol checked the exterior of her vehicle and advised her to check her personal belongings. Nothing was discovered. Upon further speaking with her, it was determined it could possibly be an Apple glitch. At this time, she was advised to call Apple and advise them of what has been going on. Later, she called back and stated the Airtag had been her friend’s.
Cars and roadways
On Feb. 10, while conducting traffic enforcement at the intersection of Sprague and Nelson roads, police observed a vehicle traveling east that failed to stop at the posted stop sign. Police initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Sprague and Johnson roads. The driver identified himself with a NYS driver's license. A DMV check yielded a suspended status. The operator denied having knowledge of the status. Police issued two summonses in regard to the violations.
On Feb. 10, police responded to a car accident at Post and Popham roads. One driver was found to be driving with a suspended registration. A summons was issued in regard to the violation.
Policed advised the driver of a maroon SUV to park his car somewhere else because it was blocking a resident’s driveway on Post Rd. Feb. 11.
A car ran out of gas on Mamaroneck Rd. Feb. 11. Police called a tow for the car to assist with getting more gasoline for the car.
On Feb. 14, police came upon a car stuck in a snow bank on Secor Rd. Upon performing a
registration inquiry on the vehicle, police discovered that the license plates were expired and were registered to another motor vehicle. Police issued summonses in regard to the violations. Police then made multiple attempts to assist the driver with extricating his vehicle from the snow bank with negative results. Additional help was called.
On Feb. 14, police initiated a traffic stop on Post Rd. the driver was issued summonses for speeding and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Police notified Verizon about a fallen wire on Walworth Ave. Feb. 15.
The highway department cleared a fallen tree from Bypass, a fallen tree from Park Rd. and broken branches from Popham Rd. in the overnight period from Feb. 16 to 17.
Village code
On Feb. 11, police issued a verbal warning to a solicitor on Rural Dr. who could not produce a permit for solicitation in the Village.
Animals
A person complained of a dog off leash near Edgewood School Feb. 12. The dog and its owner were gone when police arrived, but the crossing guard said the off-leash dog is an ongoing violation. Police advised the crossing guard to inform the owner of Village code next time the owner and dog are present.
Lost and found
A driver reported losing a license plate in the Village Feb. 13.
Firefighters
On Feb. 10, people got stuck inside a stalled elevator at the Scarsdale train station. Firefighters opened the elevator manually, and safely evacuated the occupants. They put the elevator out of service.
On Feb. 11, firefighters helped Scarsdale Volunteer Ambulance Corps move a patient from a bedroom to the ambulance in Edgewood.
Firefighters assisted with a car accident involving a car into a pole on Brewster Rd. Feb. 13.
On Feb. 13, firefighters assisted Walworth Avenue residents with a reported issue with the main electrical panel, with sparking wiring. Firefighters found a basement circuit, adjacent to the electrical panel, that was water compromised and arcing. The resident was alerted to the condition, and he had isolated the electrical service via the main electrical breaker prior to firefighters’ arrival. Firefighters observed visible electrical arcing for the circuit but found no signs of fire or smoke. Firefighters were able to locate and isolate the circuit while also restoring power to the rest of the structure. Firefighters advised the resident to leave the circuit off until a licensed electrician could correct the issue. The resident contacted an electrician for a response to assess the circuit.
On Feb. 15, firefighters checked a stovetop gas leak at a Mamaroneck Rd. house. The gas was turned off, and the resident was advised to call a plumber.

Police Report: Man Arrested for Driving Without Interlock Device and a Massage Gun Explodes

Arrest: On Feb. 1, police were conducting traffic enforcement in the vicinity of Heathcote Rd. and Duck Pond Rd. They observed a vehicle traveling west at a high rate of speed, and confirmed their observation by radar. Police conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the operator – Tevin Lamor Clarke, 32, of the Bronx – who presented a NYS driver’s license. A check of the provided license returned a restriction that required the driver to use an ignition interlock device. A driver interlock device, also known as an ignition interlock device (IID), is a breathalyzer that prevents a vehicle from starting if the driver has alcohol in their system. Clarke was arrested for use of a vehicle without an interlock device, speeding and operation of an unregistered motor vehicle. He was released on his own recognizance and issued an appearance ticket for Scarsdale Village Justice Court.
Stolen
On Jan. 29, a Birchall Dr. woman advised of missing an expensive handbag, and she suspected it was stolen. She noticed the bag missing from her bedroom on Dec. 30, 2024. She also said she was away from her house during the month of December, and contractors were working inside. She wanted to document the incident for insurance purposes.
A Gatehouse Rd. resident saw a man, dressed in black with a medical mask, steal a package containing three items from his neighbor’s property approximately 30 minutes in the past, Jan. 31.
A Colvin Rd. resident reported a package containing two items was stolen from his porch Jan. 31.
Fraud
On Jan. 31, a Walworth Ave. resident reported she was a victim of fraud with respect to an internet sale of a bed involving a fraudulent check in the amount of $2,270. Jan. 31. The sale occurred on the “Next Door” site.
Scam
On Jan. 29, a Birchall Dr. man reported he received a suspicious email requesting that money be sent to a crypto account. The man wished to document this incident and advised
that he did not incur any loss. Patrol advised him to immediately delete and ignore any unknown or suspicious emails in the future.
Domestic matters
A Fox Meadow father called police for help with a dispute with his teenage son Jan. 27. The father advised patrol that he had a verbal argument with his child over WiFi. He said he took the WiFi away from his child, and the child became angry. Patrol provided the father with possible solutions to his child not listening to him.
Horn
A Harcourt Rd. woman reported a white SUV pulled into her driveway after 1:30 a.m., Feb. 2, and the driver repeatedly honked the horn and left. The woman said this is the second time such an incident has occurred.
Cars and roadways
Police helped a driver with a disabled vehicle on Popham Rd. get his car towed for repairs Jan. 27.
A driver reported his brakes locked on Popham Rd. Jan. 27. Police organized a tow for the car.
Police called a service station for a driver who locked his keys inside his car on Edgewood Rd. Jan. 28.
A Range Rover with two flat tires was abandoned on Cayuga Rd. after midnight, Feb. 1. Police contacted the owner, who said his daughter left the car there and he was en route to move it out of the roadway. It was safely parked, and the owner said he would arrange a tow in the morning.
Police advised the highway department about work needed to refill a pothole on Greenacres Ave. Feb. 1.
Verizon was notified about a dangling wire from a utility pole on Rock Creek Lane Feb. 1.
Police helped a driver with car trouble on Mamaroneck Rd. organize a tow for her car Feb. 2.
Three car accidents were officially reported in the Village this week.
Village code
On Jan. 31, police removed a real estate sign on Palmer Ave. because it was posted in the Village right of way, in violation of Village code. Police removed the sign and issued the real estate agency a summons.
Police dispersed kids who were skating on Olmsted Pond, near the Scarsdale Library, Feb. 2. Police advised the kids that it was not safe to skate on the thin ice.
Lost and found
A resident reported losing a Samsung cell phone in the vicinity of Boulevard Feb. 27.
A backpack was left behind at a ceremony at Scarsdale library Jan. 31. Police identified the owner of the backpack and returned the property to that person.
Firefighters
Firefighters checked a Sprague Rd. house and stood by for Con Edison due to a suspected gas leak Jan. 27.
On Jan. 29, a Madison Rd. asked firefighters to evaluate the electrical cords plugged into outlets. Firefighters found nothing inherently wrong and observed no obvious fire hazards at this location. Scarsdale Police and SVAC were requested for an evaluation of a party at the location. Contact was made, and no action beyond the evaluation was made.
Firefighters assisted at a car accident on Hutchinson River Parkway Jan. 30.
A Franklin Rd. resident called firefighters reporting that a massage gun had exploded Jan. 31. Firefighters discovered a massage gun which had malfunctioned from improper use of a charger. The item was removed from the home, and firefighters ventilated the space to reduce the odor.
On Feb. 2, firefighters were dispatched to a Heathcote Rd. house for an inside smell of gasoline. Crews found a leaking gas-powered generator in the garage. The generator was moved to the driveway, The leak stopped when firefighters shut off the gas valve. The house was ventilated.
