Police Report: $1,200 Coin Stolen from Package, Fraudulent Prescriptions and Kids Doing Donuts

When he received the package containing the coin, however, the package was empty. It had been sealed with two different types of tape, indicating that it had possibly been opened and re-sealed. The company requested a refund to be able to issue a refund.
Identity theft
On Feb. 25, a Mamaroneck Rd. woman reported that her medical ID was being used to write and fill false prescriptions since February 2025. The fraudulent prescriptions amounted to over $250,000. She became aware of the matter after a health insurance company investigated some of the prescriptions.
Unwanted messages
On Feb. 27, an Aspen Rd. resident reported receiving unwanted messages from an anonymous person, possibly through fake accounts.. The resident suspected the messages were being sent by a known acquaintance. Police called the acquaintance, and the acquaintance denied sending the messages.
Cars and roadways
On Feb. 23, police blocked off Drake Rd. with caution tape because of fallen wires.
Police blocked one lane of Oak Lane because of a fallen tree Feb. 23.
Fallen wires were addressed on Richelieu Rd. Feb. 23.
A car was blocking Cambridge Rd. Feb. 23. Police asked the driver to move the car.
On Feb. 24, police asked the drivers of illegally parked cars to move them in order to make the roadway passable.
Police assisted with traffic control on Fenimore Rd. while a driver changed a flat tire Feb. 25.
Police asked a driver to move his car because it was parked over the double yellow line on Mamaroneck Rd. Feb. 25.
Verizon was notified about a fallen wire on Meadow Rd. Feb. 25.
On Feb. 26, high school students were asked to move their parked cars from Hampton Rd.
Police stood by a disabled car on Sylvan Lane, until the car was able to be removed by tow Feb. 26.
Police removed a stone from Fenimore Rd. Feb. 28.
A water cap was loose on Stratton Rd. and Winward Lane Feb. 28. A sinkhole was forming in the area. The water department replaced the water cap, and the highway department was notified about the sinkhole, for repair.
Three car accidents were officially reported in the Village this week.
Police conducted traffic stops this week which resulted in issuing summonses to five drivers, for licensing, registration, inspection and insurance violations.
Assistance
A resident called 911 on Feb. 24 to suggest the placement of a stop sign. Police advised the caller to only use 911 for emergencies, and to reach out to the business line of the Village to discuss suggestions about stop signs and similar matters.
Police observed a partially collapsed Bilco door on East Parkway Feb. 27. They made the doors safe and attempted to notify the owner.
Youth
Police received a report of approximately 20 youth, in 10 cars, doing donuts on Boulevard Rd. Feb. 27. Police went to the scene and observed youth loitering in cars. The youth were dispersed.
Dog
A large dog was found on Brewster Rd. Feb. 25. It had no collar or tags. A veterinarian read the dog’s chip, and police contacted the owner. The owner picked up the dog and received a summons for having a dog at large.
Lost and found
A wallet was found on Garth Rd. Feb. 26. Police returned it to its owner who was at a Garth Rd. business Feb. 26.
Firefighters
On Feb. 23, firefighters stood by for Con Edison at the site of a gas leak on Scarsdale Ave.
On Feb. 23, a one-ton dump truck was on fire in a Mamaroneck Rd. parking lot. The engine compartment and cab were on fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire.
Water from snow was leaking into a Hathaway Rd. house, which caused a false alarm because of water intrusion into a smoke alarm, Feb. 23.
On Feb. 23, firefighters attempted to help a locked-out Stratton Rd. resident. However, they could not open the door without causing damage; so they recommended calling a locksmith instead.
On Feb. 23, firefighters stood by for Con Edison at the site of a gas leak on Scarsdale Ave.
On Feb. 24, firefighters opened the doors of a stuck elevator at the Scarsdale train station to free a person caught inside. The elevator was put out of commission, and officials were notified.
Firefighters assisted with a car accident on Secor Rd. Feb. 24.
On Feb. 25, firefighters assisted a Carman Rd. resident with a leaking tub drain.
On Feb. 25, a Crossway resident attempted to light a fireplace fire with the chimney flue closed. Firefighters put out the fire and opened the flue. They instructed the resident about safe use of fireplaces.
A two-car accident resulted in a vehicle rollover on Post Rd. Feb. 25. Firefighters assisted, and Scarsdale Volunteer Ambulance Corps took six occupants to Westchester Medical Center.
An electrical odor in a Springdale Rd. house was caused by a burnt-out LED bulb Feb. 26.
On Feb. 26, firefighters assisted at a car accident on the Bronx River Parkway.
Firefighters stood by for Con Edison at the site of a gas odor at a Brookline Rd. house Feb. 26.
On Feb. 28, burning candles ignited a window sill, carpet and window glazing at a Fox Meadow Rd. temple. The temple was evacuated and staff extinguished the fire with a dry chemical extinguisher. Firefighters made sure the fire was out, overhauled the area and let people back inside the temple.

Police Report Resident Harassed by False Allegations and Another Pedestrian Hit

Harassment:On Feb. 18, a Cohawney Rd. resident reported that he was being harassed by an unknown person who was spreading false information. The unknown person was sending messages via Snapchat to the resident’s girlfriend and to the resident’s employer, alleging that the resident was running a sexually explicit X account.
Concern
An East Parkway business manager called police to report a woman had been hanging out inside the establishment for some time, and the manager thought she might be impaired by drugs Feb. 20. Police interviewed the woman, a known drug user from another jurisdiction. She did not show any signs of impairment on that day and was allowed to stay inside the establishment.
Homeless
A homeless woman was discovered inside an ATM vestibule on East Parkway Feb. 21. She told police she was waiting for money to be transferred into her account. Police told her she could not stay in the vestibule. She left and boarded a train.
Help
Police assisted a Sage Terrace woman confirm that she had home health aide services booked on Feb. 18.
Police mediated a conversation between a Brite Ave. homeowner and a nanny who was being terminated Feb. 22. Police stood by while the nanny collected her belongings and left.

A car struck a pedestrian at Christie Place and Chase Rd. Feb. 19. No injuries were reported.

On Feb. 18, Bell Rd. heating equipment was improperly venting and causing a carbon monoxide situation. Firefighters shut it off at the request of Con Edison.

Police Report Stolen Purse, Pedestrian Hit, Two Deaths and Fishing on Thin Ice

Missing purse: A Bronx woman reported placing her purse down at an Olmsted Rd. location, and then it went missing Feb. 11. It is presumed that the purse was stolen.
Vehicle and traffic arrest
On Feb. 11, police arrested Christian Cuenca-Serrano, 27, of White Plains, on charges of an uninspected motor vehicle, a permit violation involving a front seat occupant other than a supervisor, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle (mandatory suspension), and failure to notify the DMV of a change of home address. The arrest occurred following a traffic stop on Mamaroneck Rd. Cuenca-Serrano was released on his own recognizance with an appearance ticket for Scarsdale Village Justice Court.
Identity theft
On Feb. 10, a Cambridge Rd. man reported being the victim of identity theft. An unknown person used the man’s information to open a fraudulent account with a company called “Upgrade.” The company sent emails about missed payments. That is how the man learned about the identity theft. The company required a police report to close the account.
On Feb. 12, a Woods Lane resident reported that someone opened a fraudulent account in his name. The account was then used in an attempt to receive a loan. The request was denied.
Help
Police provided a courtesy pickup and transport of an intoxicated person in the area of Post and Sherbrooke roads at 3 a.m., Feb. 15.
Pedestrian hit
A passerby reported seeing an older model Honda Accord strike a pedestrian at Popham Rd. and Scarsdale Ave. Feb. 9. The pedestrian got up and could walk. The driver was described as a white man wearing glasses, with dark hair. The driver said he did not see the pedestrian due to sun glare. The pedestrian was treated on the scene and refused further medical attention.

On Feb. 10, police removed a fallen wire from Palmer Ave.
On Feb. 10, police issued a 28-year-old White Plains driver summonses for operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, an unregistered motor vehicle and failure to obey a traffic control device following a Walworth Ave. traffic stop. The plates were removed, and the car was towed to the driver’s residence.
On Feb. 11, police issued a 45-year-old New Rochelle driver a summons for a suspended registration following a Walworth Ave. traffic stop.
Police taped off an area with a damaged stair on Popham Rd. for safety, pending repair Feb. 11.
On Feb. 12, police issued a 75-year-old Larchmont driver summonses for operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle following a Post Rd. traffic stop.
A Lincoln Rd. resident reported she could not exit her driveway because a car was blocking it Feb. 12. Police spoke with the car’s driver. It was a woman who said she had arrived early to view the house, which was for sale. She arrived one hour early and was told to leave the driveway and wait for her scheduled time.
Police helped a woman with a language barrier call for roadside assistance to help her open her locked car to get access to her keys Feb. 12.
A caller reported that accumulated snow was making it difficult to reach Chase Rd. parking meters Feb. 13. Police notified the highway department. Police also informed the caller about how to use an app to pay for parking in the Village.
Patrol called a tow for a car with a flat tire on Mamaroneck Rd. Feb. 15.

Deaths
A Cohawney Rd. resident reported an elderly neighbor passed out Feb. 9. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the 89-year-old man had died.
An 81-year-old Madison Rd. man died at home Feb. 10.
Dogs
A caller reported two loose dogs on Post Rd. Feb. 13. The caller caught one dog and held it in her fenced yard. The other dog got away. Police picked up the fenced dog and brought it to headquarters where it was later reunited with its owner.
Kids
Police saw two kids with fishing poles on Tisdale Rd. Feb. 15. They said they had been attempting to fish in a nearby pond, but did not have any luck. Police advised them of the dangers of thin ice and cautioned them to be careful of ice and snow.
Civil matter
A Garth Rd. business owner reported damage to a skylight caused by bricks that fell from an adjacent building during a construction job Feb. 13. The foreman of the job accepted responsibility for the damage and said he would work with the business owner to address the damage.

On Feb. 9, a resident reported losing her driver’s license somewhere in the Village.
On Feb. 10, a Mamaroneck Rd. man reported losing the front license plate to his car sometime within the last two weeks.
A resident arrived at headquarters to deliver a case for AirPods found on the Metro North train Feb. 10. Police informed MTA police.
A broken car bumper was removed from Post and Kingston roads Feb. 11.

Burst Pipes, Man Falls on Train Tracks, Toddler Locked in Bathroom and a Slip on the Ice

Photo by Shelley GrafsteinBurglary: On Feb. 3, police responded to a burglar alarm in a Fayette Rd. house. They saw a damaged front window and signs that someone had entered the house that way. At least five items were stolen, with a combined value of over $3,000.
Packages
On Feb. 3, a Windsor Lane resident reported receiving unknown packages at her address. Patrol arrived and spoke with the resident, who advised that she had been receiving packages to her residence that were not ordered by her. Additionally, the packages coincided with fraudulent charges to her credit card. She said that she took measures to report the fraudulent charges, and her funds were recouped. She was concerned that an individual was utilizing UPS Premier Choice to view live updates of package deliveries to her address and arriving to retrieve those packages. Patrol advised her to contact UPS to have Premier Choice removed from her address.
Identity theft
On Feb. 4, a Richelieu Rd. woman reported that someone opened a credit card in her name.
On Feb. 6, a Black Birch Lane man reported that a check was previously stolen from him and washed. A similar occurrence happened to the man last July.
Help
On Feb. 2, police called Scarsdale Volunteer Ambulance Corps for a homeless man walking down Brewster Rd. The man said he had just gotten released from the hospital the day before. SVAC drove him back to the hospital for additional treatment.
Harassment
A Fairview Court woman reported that a person was engaging in unwanted communications with her by email and phone calls Feb. 5. Police helped the woman draft and send an email stating that the communication was unwanted.
On Feb. 5, a Dickel Rd. resident reported receiving unwanted calls from a woman whom she had dated in the past. She did not respond to any of the calls.

A man reported falling onto the tracks at Scarsdale train station, cutting his finger, Feb. 7. Police stood by for medical assistance.

Police Report: Burglary, Bronx Driver Arrested for Drunk Driving, Jewelry Store Robbed

Burgalry: Burglars entered a home on Fayette Road at 4:50 am on February 3 while the homeowners were asleep in the house. They were awoken and called the police who found a damaged front window and signs of entry. Police reported that a grand larceny occured, with over $3,000 in property stolen or damaged.
Arrested: On Jan. 30, a car accident occurred off Bypass and Weaver St., involving a car that crashed off the road. Police arrived and arrested the driver — Reshma Manger, 28, of the Bronx — for driving while intoxicated, refusal to take a breath test, moving unsafely from a lane, and failing to keep right on a two-lane road. She was booked and processed at the police station and released on her own recognizance with a future appearance ticket for Village Justice Court.
Jewelry store robbed
Policed assisted New Rochelle police with the investigation of a reported jewelry store robbery on Wilmot Rd on Jan. 28. The suspects — three middle Eastern men, two wearing black jackets and one wearing a maroon jacket — stole approximately $20,000 worth of jewelry from the location. They did not display a weapon.
Harassment
A Walworth Ave. woman reported that her brother’s ex was sending texts to her that made her feel uncomfortable since the texts involved making statements regarding her family. She asked the ex to stop contacting her, and she blocked the ex.
Homeless
A possibly homeless person was reported to be sleeping in the trash room of a Christie Place building Jan. 26. The person left before police arrived.
On Jan. 28, a possibly homeless person was reported to be sleeping in the trash room of a Christie Place building. The person told police he was just charging his phone. He claimed he was not homeless and left the area.
Snow
A Post Rd. woman called police to ask for help since her husband was stuck in his car in deep snow Jan. 27. Police and a neighbor helped shovel the car free from the snow, and the husband was able to exit the car.
A delivery driver got stuck on ice and snow on a Cushman Rd. Driveway Jan. 31.
Suspicious
On Feb. 1, a caller reported that Patrol spoke to calling parties who stated an unknown white male possibly 20 years of age in the front passenger seat of a black sedan or SUV displayed a bag of 'Doritos' and asked if the parties wanted it as the vehicle was passing by on Spencer Place. The vehicle did not stop nor did the unknown male attempt to lure the parties to the vehicle. The parties stated they got nervous and called police. Patrol instructed the parties to return home and canvassed the area which yielded negative results.
Help
Police checked a vacant Boulevard Property and found everything to be in good order Jan. 26.
A pipe burst on Colonial Rd. Jan. 28. Police contacted the water department to turn off water service. Police also notified the homeowner.
Domestic matter
An Edgewood woman reported that her husband kept calling the house phone, not leaving any messages, which she found to be bothersome Feb. 1. Police called the husband and advised him to refrain from calling.

Eastchester police and Scarsdale police dispersed noisy kids from Sprague Road. Jan. 30.
Police removed an illegally posted advertising sign from Palmer Ave. and Mamaroneck Road Police issued a summons to the business.

On Jan. 26, firefighters were dispatched to Wildwood Rd. for a car fire. The driver opened the hood and shoveled snow onto the fire to extinguish it before firefighters arrived. Firefighters stood by for a tow and disconnected the battery.
Carbon monoxide accumulated in an Innes Rd. house due to a misfiring furnace. Con Edison red-tagged the furnace. Firefighters ventilated and advised to call a plumber.
On Jan. 26, a burst pipe allowed five inches of water to accumulate in a Dickel Rd. basement. Firefighters isolated the pipe to stop the flow of water and pumped water from the basement.
On Jan. 26, firefighters isolated a burst pipe in a Vanderbilt Road house.
A heavy gas odor was detected on Eastwoods Lane Jan. 27. Firefighters stood by for Con Edison.
Firefighters isolated a burst pipe in a Broadmoor Rd. house Jan. 27. The resident was advised to call a plumber.
On Jan. 28, firefighters responded to a reported train fire at the Scarsdale train station. On arrival, they found a northbound train stopped at the station, with smoke billowing from underneath one train car located in the middle of the line. The train was evacuated of passengers by Metro North employees. Firefighters made contact with Metro North employees. Metro North employees and Incident command put a hold on traffic, and power was disconnected on both tracks. Firefighters established a water source and stretched a dry 1.75 handline to the train car. Once power was confirmed off, firefighters made their way onto the tracks to investigate what was burning underneath the train. Metro North employees advised, they believed it was a power storage unit burning underneath the train. Firefighters used three water extinguishers to extinguish any visible fire. Once fire was extinguished the scene was handed over to Metro North personnel.
Ice and snow that had accumulated on a Brewster Road roof was causing water to enter the house and leak through a light fixture Jan. 28. Firefighters assisted by shutting power to the fixture, capping wires and helping to remove snow from the roof.

Firefighters isolated a burst pipe in a Griffen Avenue house's garage Jan. 29. The resident was advised to call a plumber.
Wayside Lane residents started a fire in their fireplace, but the flue was only partially open; so smoke accumulated inside the residence Jan. 29. Firefighters put out the fire, opened the flue and ventilated.

On Jan. 31, firefighters were dispatched to a Mayflower Road house for a reported oil fire in a fireplace. They encountered a moderate smoke condition on the second level due to the resident mixing an ethanol-based fuel with paraffin wax in their ethanol fireplace burner. The fire was allowed to self-extinguish and firefighters checked that there was no extension or hazard related to the mixing of the fuels. Firefighters then assisted with ventilating the structure, utilizing a battery powered fan. Firefighters ensured the unit was adequately cooled and advised the resident to clean and inspect the unit prior to reuse.
On Jan. 31, firefighters were dispatched to Penn Road for a reported transformer fire. Firefighters found evidence of a transformer fire on a utility pole. The top of the utility pole and side of the transformer had charring damage. There was no observable damage to any of the power lines above or below the transformer, and there wasn't any liquid leaking from the transformer. All homes in the direct vicinity appeared to have power. Con Edison was notified for a response
