It had been reported stolen sometime between June 7 and June 18, according to police. The car was towed to the police impound lot, and the owner was notified. Police are following up.

Fraud, identity theft
On June 21, a Spencer Place business owner reported that he was informed about a charge back from a credit card, for the fraudulent purchase of two $17,500 Rolex watches, resulting in a loss for the business.

Cars and roadways
A driver complained that blacktop work being performed on Heathcote Road ruined his car’s tires by causing melted blacktop to adhere to the tires June 18. Police documented the incident.

On June 18, police were dispatched to Crossway for a reported car that ran out of gasoline. Police helped the Brooklyn driver pour gasoline from a canister into her car without spilling it. Police checked the driver’s license and noted it was suspended. Police issued her a summons for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Five car accidents were officially reported in the Village this week.

Village code
On June 20, police removed an illegally posted sign from the Village right of way on Fenimore Road. The owner for the advertising sign was issued a summons.

Lost and found
On June 17, a passerby found car keys on Garth Road and gave them to police for safekeeping.

On June 20, a passerby found a set of keys on Catherine Road and gave them to police for safekeeping.

Firefighters
Firefighters assisted at two unrelated car accidents on the Hutchinson River Parkway June 18.

Firefighters informed the water department of a leaking hydrant on Crossway June 18.

On June 18, firefighters checked a Heathcote Road house for gas after a resident accidentally left a stove burner in the “on” position while out of the house.

On June 19, firefighters stood by for Con Edison at the site of a reported gas leak on Greenacres Avenue.

A Birchall Drive resident accidentally got locked out of the resident’s house due to a defective garage door opener June 20. Firefighters helped the resident get back inside the house.

Firefighters assisted at a car accident on the Hutchinson River Parkway June 23.

DeerArrested: After an East Parkway business owner reported a suspect from a past incident was inside the store, police arrived to arrest the suspect – Robert James Mahoney, 47, of Yonkers – June 10. Mahoney was charged with third-degree assault and was released on his own recognizance.

On June 11, police arrested Lesborn J. Whitehead, 27, of Yonkers, on charges of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, an unregistered motor vehicle and unlicensed driving following a traffic stop of Walworth Avenue. Whitehead was released on his own recognizance.

Stolen
An Overhill Road woman reported her daughter’s headphones were stolen at Scarsdale Middle School June 10.

On June 12, a Richelieu Road resident reported a package had been stolen from her front porch.

A Fenimore Road woman reported items worth over $78,000, including one ring, had been stolen from her house.

Identity theft and scams
On June 10, an Overhill Road woman reported someone took out a fraudulent SBA loan for $20,000 in her son’s name in 2020.

On June 12, an Oak Lane woman reported receiving a fraudulent email. Later she realized it might be related to a scam and notified police and her financial institutions.

A woman walked into headquarters and advised that her mother’s bankcard at TD Bank was comprised, and a fraudulent transaction for over $730 was debited to the card.

Disorderly conduct
A man was reported to be acting aggressively toward library patrons was reported be outside the Scarsdale library June 12. Police went to the scene and noticed a man fitting the description outside the library. He stated he had been on the phone and got aggravated so he had cursed. The calling party asked that he leave the premises. He did so without incident.

On June 13, police asked an elderly lady, reported to be yelling, to leave a Harwood Court establishment because her behavior was causing a nuisance to other customers.

Delivery
A large pallet of roofing caps was improperly delivered to the wrong address on Elm Road June 12. Police documented the incident and were unable to uncover a proper shipping address.

Cars and roadways
On June 10, police discovered a black BMW with $615 in unpaid parking tickets parked on East Parkway.

A driver sustained two flat tires after hitting the curb on Mamaroneck Road June 10. Police helped the driver get a tow.

Shrubbery on Fairview Road was reportedly blocking sightlines at an intersection. Police notified the highway department June 11.

On June 11, police helped Westchester County police set up a perimeter to find a person who fled a traffic stop. The person was found in the area of Bradford Road.

On June 13, a caller reported two vehicles, possibly being driven by teenagers, racing on the neighborhood streets in Edgewood. The vehicles were described as a silver Porsche and a black convertible. Police went to the area, but the cars were no longer there.

Police advised Verizon about low-hanging wires on Brite Avenue June 14.

Police removed a fallen tree blocking Griffen Avenue June 14.

Con Edison was notified about a power outage on Heathcote Road June 15.

Verizon was notified about low-hanging and broken wires on Walworth Avenue June 15.

Accidents
Police reported two accidents on Fenimore Road this week. On Friday June 14 a 2017 Porsche traveling west on Fenimore Road collided with a 2013 Acura driving east on Fenimore Road. Passengers from both cars were taken to White Plains Hospital. Both cars were towed.

On June 15 a 2023 Audi high a 2023 Honda. The Audi was going west on Fenimore Road, attempting to make a left on Oak Lane when the Honda, headed east on Fenimore Road hit the Audi. One passenger was taken to White Plains hospital by a SVAC ambulance.

Village code
After a noise complaint, police asked people playing ball outdoors on Boulevard to lower the volume of music June 10.

On June 12, police advised a man on Gorham Road that he needed a permit to solicit in the Village. He agreed to stop soliciting until proper paperwork was obtained.

A Fox Meadow Road resident agreed to shut off music because neighbors complained of noise June 12.

On June 13, police dispersed kids from a public park on Boulevard after dark.

On June 13, police removed illegally posted signs from Crossway and disposed of them.

On June 14, police advised a homeowner about illegally posted signs on Morris Lane so the homeowner could relocate them.

On June 14, police removed illegally posted signs from Mamaroneck Road and Palmer Avenue and disposed of them. A summons was issued for the Village code offense.

Police advised the manager of Fenway Golf Club of a loud music complaint June 14. The manager said the music volume would be lowered.

A Secor Road resident complained about the volume of music coming from a neighbor’s pool party June 15. The volume was lowered after police spoke with the host.

On June 13, a caller reported a woman with dogs in shopping carts at Chase Road Park. Police asked the woman if she needed any assistance. She declined.

A deer fell into a window well on Griffen Avenue June 13. It managed to get itself out unharmed.

Lost and found
On June 11, a Lebanon Road woman reported losing her driver’s license.
On June 12, a Brite Avenue woman advised that she got into her vehicle and found a book with old checks and other personal items that did not belong to her. She was unsure if her car was unlocked or how long the items were in the vehicle.

On June 11, firefighters helped opened a locked residential bathroom in a Heathcote Road house to release a child who accidentally got locked inside.

On June 3, Westchester County police advised of a psychiatric patient, dressed in a hospital gown, who fled an ambulance from the northbound lanes of the Hutchinson River Parkway. Scarsdale police assisted in searching the surrounding area for the patient – including the Weinberg Nature Center and the Saxon Woods Golf Course.
A resident familiar with the incident through a family member reported: “My son was just at Saxon Woods, and as he was walking home, he saw 10 or so police cars (and emergency vehicles). At that point, a woman on the street came up to him and said, “Do you have a ride home?” He then learned there was a person who had escaped a psychiatric facility who was ‘on the loose.’ I called Scarsdale police … [and learned] they were just assisting and that this was a matter being handled by County Police…. [My son] told me that the street right before Griffen, Barker Lane, was blocked off by a cop car.” Due to the medical issue of the incident, no further details were provided, but police believe he was found the following morning.

Arrested
On May 29, police arrested Andre Gaston, 45 of the Bronx, on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, having an uninspected motor vehicle and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. The arrest occurred after a license plate reader sounded a violation alert at a police checkpoint on Weaver Street. Gaston was released on his own recognizance, and the car was towed.electriccarThe Village of Scarsdale Police Department just received their first all-electric police car, a Ford Mustang Mach-E.   The Mach-E is the latest in the Village’s growing fleet of electric vehicles, which consists of 4 Chevy Bolts and a Nissan Leaf. “Transportation accounts for over a third of all greenhouse gas emissions, so electrification of the Village’s fleet is a key sustainability initiative,” said Michelle Sterling, Chair of the Scarsdale Conservation Advisory Council.   “It’s fantastic how the Village of Scarsdale has been committed to lowering its carbon emissions, addressing climate change and promoting sustainability,” continued Sterling. “Expanding its fleet of electric vehicles is just one of the many steps the Village is taking to help the environment, and it makes me really proud to be a part of this community.”   The Ford Mustang Mach-E is estimated to save a minimum of $5,000 in fuel costs over the next five years, and will reduce repair and maintenance costs by 50%.

A bail of $1,500 was set following the arrest of Gilbert Sahamundi, 51, of Mamaroneck. Unable to pay, he was sent to Westchester County Jail. He was charged with failure to attach a sticker to his car, a no inspection certificate, an uninspected motor vehicle, and unregistered motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operation of a motor vehicle without a license, second-degree obstruction of government administration, assaulting an officer with an intent to cause physical injury and resisting arrest. The incident occurred on Popham Road following a traffic stop.

Car break-ins
An Edgewood Road woman reported that someone entered her car and stole glasses and money May 28.

On May 28, a Ferncliff Road man reported that his BMW was entered, and money, sunglasses headphones and a duffel bag were stolen.

Missing suitcase
On May 28, a Post Road woman reported a rolling suitcase had been stolen from outside her house that day. She said she placed her purple suitcase with rollers on the downward slanted driveway adjacent to her vehicle. Her father later responded to the driveway to carry her bag in the house, and he discovered it was missing. She advised that she reported the bag stolen, and provided officers with an address for the bag’s location as she located it via the Find my Device feature of the Apple IPad that was secured in the suitcase. Patrol responded to nearby Woodruff Avenue in the Town of Eastchester, and made contact with several contractors working at the residence. Due to a language barrier, Google translate was used with one of the workers who said he placed the bag in the back of his work truck after finding it on the southbound lanes of Post Road and Evon Court unattended obstructing traffic. The contractor and his boss responded back to the residence with the listed bag. A neighbor with a ring camera produced footage showing that the bag rolled down into the traffic lanes of Post Road on its on contractor stopping to remove the bag from the roadway and looking to see where it came from. The woman’s father advised that he saw the contractor pick the bag up, but he was not aware that it belonged to his daughter. The contractor stated that he removed the bag out of the roadway, and he was going to drop it off at the police station at the end of his workday. The woman thanked patrol for assistance with the matter.

Hacked
On May 31, a Penn Road man advised that his email and Facebook accounts were hacked and he was receiving unwanted phone calls from a possible scam number.

Dispute
On May 30, a Pinecrest Road woman reported she had been verbally accosted by a dog walker on the street. The parties agreed to avoid each other.

Harassment
An Oak Lane woman reported she is receiving unwanted messages from a family member’s ex-girlfriend May 31. She said the messages have been occurring via various media social platforms for about a month.

Trespassing
On June 1, police dispersed a group of kids loitering at a Spier Road construction site.

Civil matters
A Pinecrest Road woman allegedly got into an argument with a dog walker who passes her house at least once a day May 30.

On May 30, a Continental Road resident alleged that her neighbor removed a fence belonging to her. The replacement fence allegedly did not have a permit.

snakeOn May 29, a Winslow Road woman reported being bitten by a dog at Eton and Greendale roads. The owner of the dog was an Eton Road woman.

On May 30, a Black Birch Lane woman reported a snake was on her property. She advised that an HVAC technician on scene reported a snake residing in the condenser unit he was troubleshooting on the side of the house. The son-in-law of the homeowner responded to the scene with a grabber tool and relocated the snake to the other side of the river in the backyard.

A caller reported a turtle stuck in a hole on Taunton Road May 30. It was not there when police went looking for it.

A small loose dog ran into a Cohawnwy Road house May 31. Police took custody of the dog and notified its owner, who subsequently received a summons for having a dog at large.

Village code
Police notified residents about posted signs in the Village right of way on Ridgedale and Mamaroneck roads and Palmer Avenue May 28, Montrose, Mamaroneck and Cushman roads May 28 and Crossway field, Greenacres Avenue and Mamaroneck and Montrose roads May 29. A sign posted on Post Road was discarded May 28.
Kids were fishing at a pond at Brewster and Olmsted roads May 28. Police showed up after they left. Allegedly, a passerby told them that fishing was not allowed there.

On May 30, police removed an illegally posted sign from Heathcote Road.

On May 31, police removed illegally posted signs from Mamaroneck Road and issued a summons to the offending business.

After neighbor complained of noise, police asked a Park Road resident to lower the volume of music being played June 1.

Police told a group of kids riding bikes in Freightway Garage that the garage was off limits and loitering was not allowed June 1.

Lost and found
On May 28, police helped a caller find lost Airpods.

A Lee Road resident reported her son’s passport and visa had been lost May 29.

Police picked up an abandoned suitcase from East Parkway May 30.

On May 30, a person walked into headquarters to report losing his passport.

A Christie Place woman reported losing her keys while walking to the post office and back June 1.

Firefighters
On May 27, firefighters assessed a Doris Drive house for lightning damage.

On May 27, firefighters stood by for Con Edison at the site of a minor gas leak in a Lebanon Road house.

Firefighters assisted with car accidents on River Road, Claremont Road, Sycamore Road and the Bronx River Parkway May 28. The accident on River Road damaged a telephone pole and affected overhead wires. Con Edison was called to evaluate the situation and showed up on May 29.

On June 29, a Beechwood Lane resident called firefighters to discuss a grill incident that happened in the past. The resident stated that he had sustained severe burns requiring hospitalization after igniting his propane fed outdoor grill. The incident occurred at least a week in the past. Firefighters evaluated the grill and found it to be in good working order. Crews used a combustible gas detector and found no leaks with the main valve open and burner valves closed. The resident stated that he had actuated one burner valve and pressed the electronic ignition with the grill lid open. When he pressed the igniter, the doors at the base of the grill blew open; there was a flash, and the resident sustained burns to his legs. There was no flame noted at the grilling surface. Based on the conditions described, members discussed the possibility of a burner control valve being accidentally left on for an extended period of time prior to ignition. The propane might have migrated into the lower storage area of the grill and when the igniter was depressed was at the correct stoichiometric ratio of propane to air to support combustion. This could have caused the flash fire that resulted in the burns. Fire department personnel discussed grill safety methods with the resident.

On May 29, firefighters assisted a Kelwynne Road resident with a broken window.

Water entered a Depot Place elevator through the ceiling May 29. Firefighters placed the elevator out of service and notified MTA police.

Firefighters stood by for Con Edison at the site of a gas odor on Old Orchard Lane May 29.

On May 30, firefighters were called to the Hutchinson River Parkway for a reported car fire. On arrival units found one vehicle on the shoulder fully involved. Firefighters stretched a hand line and extinguished the fire. Units overhauled the vehicle in order to fully extinguish the fire, and they remained on scene until a tow arrived.

Firefighters were called to a Windsor Lane house for a report of an electrical issue. There they found a chewed power cord to a bed plugged in and burning in the first floor living room. The plug was removed from the outlet. Firefighters isolated the breaker to the outlet. It was found to not be damaged. Firefighters checked behind the outlet cover and surrounding area with a thermal imaging camera. No extension was found. Firefighters advised the resident to call an electrician. A female occupant of the house displayed minor black marks on her hand from plugging in the cord that was damaged. She refused the offer of an ambulance to respond.

On May 31, firefighters were called to the Hutchinson River Parkway for a reported accident.

Firefighters helped a Brite Avenue resident get back inside the house after an accidental lockout June 1.

A contractor was burning weeds on Mamaroneck Road with a torch June 1. It caused mulch to smolder. Firefighters extinguished the fire and overhauled the area.

Firefighters assisted with low-hanging wires on Brewster Road June 2.

On June 2, an unattended pot on a stove in a Black Birch Lane house caused smoke to spread throughout the first floor. The residents were not home, but an alarm sounded and summoned firefighters. Firefighters removed the pot and shut off the stove. They ventilated the space and contacted the resident.

cell towerContractors for AT&T made repairs to the cell tower at the sanitation yard on Friday June 7.Stolen cars: A Secor Road woman called police at 2:10 a.m., June 4, to report that her car had just been stolen approximately 10 minutes ago.

On June 10, a 2019 Maserati, worth $35,000, was reported as stolen during the overnight period from its owner’s Post Road driveway. It had been left unlocked with the keys inside.

Car break-ins
A Secor Road resident reported his doorbell camera recorded a man in a black hooded sweatshirt entering his parked car and removing an item around 2 a.m., June 3. He was not sure what was stolen, he said.

On June 6, around 5 p.m., a caller said her daughter observed an SUV driving on
Fox Meadow Road towards Fenimore Road, with a male was getting out and pulling on car door handles. The vehicle is described as a long white or light silver SUV, and the male was described as wearing a red shirt. Patrol arrived on scene and canvassed for any vehicle or person matching the descriptions. Neither suspect nor vehicle was found.

On June 10, an Ogden Road resident reported someone entered her car, took her garage door opener and entered her garage. He left in a white sedan with the garage door opener in hand.

Stolen tools
On June 8, a New Jersey contractor reported his tools were stolen from a Brown Road construction site overnight. Tools included drills, routers, batteries and bits, worth approximately $2,000.

Assault
A Popham Road business manager reported a customer was attacked by another customer who left the scene by scooter. The attacker was described as wearing a gray jacket with black pants.

Identity theft and scams
A Crossway resident reported her identity had been stolen and she was at a loss of $49,000.

On June 7, a Morris Lane resident reported that four $500 checks had been forged and cashed against her account on May 6, 16, 29 and June 6. Another fraudulent check was presented on June 7, but the bank caught it and froze the account.

On June 7, a banker reported that she believed one of her customers was being scammed. Patrol arrived on scene and spoke with the customer who advised that she had been called by a man that alleged that he worked at the bank and “needed money to stop an account closure.” The bank manager stated she observed the customer withdrawing a large sum of money, and when she questioned the involved party, she was advised of the attempted scam. The involved party advised that she was at no financial loss and would be blocking the phone number that was calling her.

Hacking
A Kelwynne Road woman reported her computer had been hacked by pop-up ads June 3. The hacking allegedly occurred in May. She told police she was no longer using it and having it destroyed. She opened new bank accounts as a precaution and requested a police report for documentation purposes.

Deaths
A caller reported her 99-year-old Aspen Road father died at home June 6.
A caller requested an ambulance for an unresponsive elderly Saxon Woods Road woman June 8. When paramedics arrived, the 89-year-old woman was determined to have already died.
On June 10, a Graham Road daughter reported her 98-year-old mother passed away at home.

Assistance
On June 3, police helped Westchester County police search for a psychiatric patient who fled an ambulance on the Hutchinson River Parkway and ran by foot toward Mamaroneck Road and Griffen Avenue, while wearing a hospital gown, June 3.

On June 11, Scarsdale Police assisted county police on Bradford Road in a search for someone who fled a traffic stop.

A caller reported a man yelling at the train station platform June 7. Police canvassed the area and notified MTA police.

Concerns
A Paddington Road man told police he was concerned about a man who had been talking to his au pair June 7. The man said that when his au pair regularly drops off his child at Fox Meadow School, she is often approached by a white male who is approximately 70 years of age who is also dropping off a child at the school. The older man engages the au pair in friendly conversation, but she feels intimidated by him. Police advised the man to inform the male that the conversation is unwanted and to contact police again if the male continues. Patrol will conduct ridebys of the location more frequently during drop-off and pick-up hours.

Police spoke with a homeless woman sitting on a Spencer Place bench June 8. She refused any assistance.

Police conducted two welfare checks of residents in the Village June 9 due to family members’ concerns. Residents were fine and in good condition.

Cars and roadways
A driver sustained a flat tire due to a pothole on Mamaroneck Road June 3. Police asked if the driver needed help.

Police notified Verizon about fallen wires on Scarsdale Avenue June 3.

Con Edison was notified about dangling electrical wires over Walworth Avenue June 7 and 8.

A driver parked his car in the Wilgrin parking lot on Palmer Avenue June 7, and another car hit it and caused damage. The incident was recorded by video surveillance, and patrol contacted the offending driver who said she drove away because she though no damage occurred. Police facilitated an information exchange.

Highway department workers removed a fallen branch from Garden Road June 7.

An SUV was parked in the middle of Brewster Road June 7. Police contacted the owner and advised him to park in a better location.

Three car accidents were officially reported in the Village this week.

Civil matters
Police informed a Sheldrake Road resident that a neighborly dispute with over the placement of a fence along the alleged property line was a civil matter June 3.

On June 6, a Brewster Road woman reported a dispute with a refrigerator repairperson. She stated that upon completion of the work, she asked the worker if he could open the panel so she could see the new piece he installed. The worker refused to open the panel and advised he no longer wished to complete the job. Police advised it was a civil matter.

Animals
Different caller s were concerned about a possibly injured bird observed flying into a tree on Post Road and a rabbit on the ground on Mamaroneck Road June 8. Police provided the numbers of wildlife services.

Village code
Illegally placed signs were moved on Westview, Stratton and Heathcote roads, Windward Lane, Penn Boulevard, and Market Drive June 3; and Dolma and Stratton roads, Windward Lane and Rural Drive June 4. A summons was issued to the owner of the Windward Lane signs.

An illegally posted sign was removed from Ogden and Paddington roads and discarded June 5.

Police advised a Bradford Road resident about a noise compliant, and music volume was lowered June 7.

On June 9, Police spoke with an event coordinator at Quaker Ridge School to inform of a noise complaint. The event was concluding shortly, and staff was told to lower volume of music.

Lost and found
A Harvest Drive woman dropped off a cell phone found in her husband’s bag after he took an Uber ride home from New York City June 3. She believes the phone belonged to the driver and accidentally dropped into her husband’s bag. The phone was disabled, and police vouchered it for safekeeping.

A passerby found a coin purse on Drake Road and brought it to headquarters June 8.

Firefighters
On June 3, firefighters helped a locked-out Palmer Avenue resident get back in the house.

On June 3, firefighters helped ventilate a Donellan Road house after a resident successfully extinguished a minor cooking fire.

On June 5, firefighters assisted with a car accident on the Hutchinson River Parkway.

On June 5, firefighters assisted with a car accident at Mamaroneck Road and Crossway.

On June 6, firefighters were dispatched a Popham Road apartment to assist with a resident reported to be locked in an apartment. There, firefighters found the resident and building superintendent claiming to be trapped inside the apartment. The key was passed underneath the door to firefighters who found that the lock was in good working order. Firefighters applied pressure to the door and were able to push it open. Paint on the doorjamb and door was creating friction and preventing the door from operating properly. Firefighters scraped excess paint from the door and doorjamb and tested it a few times, with positive results.

On June 8, firefighters stood by for Con Edison at the site of a Greenacres Avenue gas leak.

On June 9, a Brittany Close resident complained of a gas odor. Firefighter found two five-gallon gas cans that were full and swollen causing vapor release. Firefighters removed the cans to driveway. They were not leaking liquid. Firefighters advised the resident to not store gasoline in the garage or house. The resident said he would take the gasoline cans to a service station for proper disposal.

infantRoad rage: A caller reported a verbal road rage incident at Popham and Taunton Road May 24. The caller reported that his babysitter was driving his children and an unknown man started getting aggravated and was honking at his babysitter. This caused the sitter to pull over. The man then got out of his car and yelled at the sitter. He was described as approximately 20 years old.

Homeless
Police dispersed a man sleeping in a vestibule at East Parkway and Palmer Avenue May 24.

Concerns
A caller was concerned about an alleged incident involving a suspected babysitter who placed a child inside a car for approximately five minutes on Lyons Road for a disciplinary matter before letting the child out again to play in the park May 24. The caller was concerned because of the temperature. The babysitter left before police arrived.

A caller reported a “heavyset, six-foot-tall” man, wearing as striped shirt, walking on Weaver Street “covered in blood” May 26. Police arrived on scene and observed the man. He said he had a nosebleed and refused medical attention.

Harassment
An Oak Lane woman reported receiving unwanted communication from her cousin’s ex-girlfriend who currently lives in Hawaii. She has since blocked the number, she said.

Suspicious
A Franklin Road resident reported returning home on May 23 to find a white sedan parked in front of her house with a man outside the car taking photos of the house.

Arizona
On May 21, after midnight, police received a call from a person who was currently in Arizona and was in obvious distress. The person has has family ties to the Village with previous calls being made similar in nature. An attempt to get the person assistance with Tucson police yielded negative results due to not having an exact location. The caller expressed his desire to come to Scarsdale, however it did not seem to appear he had the resources nor the mental capacity to do so. Patrol offered to assist him in getting local help multiple times without cooperation. Dispatch contacted Tucson PD again. They advised that if an exact location for the caller could be provided they would advise the Mobile Crisis Team. The phone number for the Mobile Crisis team was also provided for future use.

Plants
On May 22, a Brown Road man reported that he believed a few of his plants had been trimmed without his permission. He requested documentation,

Cars and roadways
Patrol helped a driver with two flat tires move the car to a safe location on Drake Road to await roadside assistance May 20.

Verizon was notified about a fallen wire on Sycamore Road May 21.

On May 22, policed spoke with the owner of a car with unpaid parking tickets on East Parkway. The owner promised to respond to Village Hall to promptly pay the tickets.

The highway department removed a fallen tree from Palmer Avenue and addressed a clogged storm drain on Greenacres Avenue May 23.

Police stood by until a disabled car could be removed from Mamaroneck Road by a tow May 23.

Verizon was notified about a low-hanging wire on Mamaroneck Road May 25.

Police advise the water department of a possible water main leak on Stratton Road May 25.

Police called a tow for a disabled vehicle on Barker Lane May 25.

Con Edison was notified about a low-hanging wire on Lee Road May 26.

Con Edison was notified about a vehicle that struck supports for a pole on Franklin Road May 26.

A car was left running but locked in Autenreith Road while its owner was possibly at the farmer’s market May 26.

Five car accidents were officially reported in the Village this week.

Dogs
A Rock Creek Lane woman advised that she had been bitten by a dog on Greendale Road May 20. The bite was not serious and medical assistance was refused. Proper health forms were completed.

Police gave a verbal warning to the owner of a loos dog observed on Heathcote Road May 26.

Lost and found
On May 21, a caller advised that his wife’s iPhone was pinging from an unknown vehicle parked at Ewart and Brambach roads. The caller left a note about the phone on the car’s windshield. Later that day, the owner of the phone reported recovering the phone.

A Secor Road driver reported losing a front license plate while driving to Queens May 25.

Village code
Signs posted in the Village right of way on Secor, Wynmor, Cooper, Stratton, Franklin and Brewster roads on May 22 were moved to comply with Village code.

Police advised a solicitor on Secor Road that he needed a permit to solicit in the Village May 22. His boss advised that he was working on it, and police advised the solicitor and his boss that they needed to stop until a permit had been obtained.

On May 23, Police advised Birchall Drive and Mamaroneck Road residents that their political signs posted close to the curb needed to be moved back out of the Village right of way.

On May 23, police advised the manager of a Mamaroneck Road establishment that neighbors had complained about noise. Music was lowered after the complaints.

Police advised youths that a Palmer Avenue playground was closed after dark May 23, and the youths left the playground.

Improperly placed signs were removed from the Village right of way on Rural Drive and Windward Lane May 24 and from Sheldrake Road May 25.

Police dispersed noisy kids from a pool party on Gatehouse Lane after midnight May 26.

Firefighters
On May 20, firefighters were dispatched to a Rochambeau Road house for an inside odor of burning. Upon arrival, crews confirmed the odor and evaluated the area with thermal imagers. There was no indication of concealed fire. Crews evaluated appliances, power strips, and light fixtures. They encountered an LED light bulb with a burn mark in a living room chandelier. Residents confirmed that the odor of the bulb was consistent with the reported odor. Firefighters advised the resident to check to ensure the light switch and light fixture were capable of accommodating LED bulbs. They advised the resident to check that the LED bulb could be dimmed since the circuit included a dimmer switch.

Firefighters and police helped open a locked Roosevelt Place bathroom door to release a two-year-old that accidentally got locked inside May 20.
On May 20, firefighters helped retrieve a fallen phone from a storm sewer grate on Black Birch Lane.

Firefighters were called to extinguish a commercial dumpster fire on Griffen Avenue May 21.

Firefighters helped a Harvest Drive resident change smoke detector batteries on May 21.

On May 21, firefighters assisted a Fenimore Road resident with a burnt outlet. Firefighters isolated power to the affected circuit by closing the circuit breaker located in the basement. The outlet was removed, and firefighters checked for extension, with negative results. Firefighters ventilated the structure and advised the resident to contact an electrician to repair the damaged outlet and components.

On May 21, firefighters were dispatched to Bell Road for a reported inside smoke condition with an odor of burning. Firefighters found plastic that had fallen onto the heating element inside the dishwasher and melted, causing the odor of burning and the slight smoke condition. The resident was advised to have the heating element inside the dishwasher cleaned of all plastic prior to operating it again to prevent a duplicate event. Firefighters assisted with ventilation, utilizing the whole house fan located in the second level ceiling to clear the odor and smoke haze from the house.

On May 22, firefighters assisted with a car accident on the Hutchinson River Parkway.

Firefighters and police helped open a locked car door on Wheelock Road to release an infant that accidentally got locked inside May 23. The air conditioning was running and the child was unharmed.

Firefighters stood by for Con Edison at the site of a fallen tree limb onto wires on Colonial Drive May 24.

On May 25, firefighters assisted with a car accident on the Hutchinson River Parkway.

On May 25, firefighters were called to a Brewster Road house for an inside investigation regarding a reported extinguished minor fire in the garage. The resident reported that cardboard boxes were stacked in their garage and one was resting against a ceiling light fixture. The light bulb produced enough heat to burn a hole in the box and to melt some plastic materials inside the box. The resident was alerted to the situation by an odor of burning and the presence of smoke inside the garage. The resident extinguished the fire by throwing water on the box and then placed it outside in the driveway. Firefighters checked the light fixture and wiring for damage and assisted the resident with ventilating the basement and garage.
