Police Report: Cat Fight and a Pizza Scam

Pizza delivery scam: A Weaver St. resident reported receiving multiple food deliveries for food that was not actually ordered by anyone at her address. The ordered pizzas were from a local pizzeria. They advised that similar incidents have happened at least three times in the past. Police advised the pizzeria manager to refrain from taking orders set to be delivered to that address.
Lottery ticket
On Aug. 31, a 7-Eleven employee called police because a customer was acting disorderly. The customer allegedly demanded a refund for a lottery ticket since the ticket was not successful, and the customer did not win thew Powerball. The employee explained that there were no refunds on lottery tickets. The customer began acting up but left before police arrived.
Cat
An Olmsted Rd. resident reported that she adopted a cat in 2019 in order to help with her granddaughter’s therapy and took responsibility for paying for the cat’s food and vet care. In 2022, the resident’s daughter took the cat, and the cat has been living with her since, although the resident still pays for the cat’s food and vet bills. The resident wanted the cat bac, but the daughter allegedly refused to return the cat. Police spoke with the daughter who said she is emotionally attached to the cat and does not want to return the cat. She acknowledged that her parents still assist with paying for some of the cat’s expenses. Police advised them it was a civil matter.
Bicycle
A light green LIV bicycle was left at the end of a Bradley Rd. driveway by the girl who rode it to her friend’s house Aug. 28. It disappeared while the girl was visiting her friend. Since it was left at the curb, it is logical that someone picked it up, mistaking it for trash. The owner hope it might be returned.
Domestic matter
A Stratton Rd. mother reported her adult son was using profanity and having an outburst with her Aug. 27. She told police she was dissatisfied with her son’s current lifestyle. Police advised both mother and son about how to seek assistance in dealing with their issues.
On Aug. 28, police recommended counseling resources to a Brown Rd. mother and son after they reported a verbal dispute that caused frustration.
Harassment
A Valley Rd. resident reported a man whom she has blocked by phone has been sending her unwanted emails and letters Aug. 28. She requested extra ridebys.
Civil matters
On Aug. 26, a Murray Hill Rd. medical doctor reported having a dispute with her billing company. The billing company, as a result, blocked her access to important information related to her patients’ medical care. Police advised her it was a civil matter. She said she would try to resolve it directly with the billing company.
On Aug. 27, a Madison Rd. landlord reported that her tenants vacated her rental property and then returned to retrieve items, and she wanted to document the incident. She said the tenants were breaking their lease, and she was responsible to throw out all items left behind. Then, the tenants returned to pick up couches that they had left behind. They arrived unannounced. She asked police to document the incident.
Death
An 89-year-old Elm Rd. woman died at home Aug. 31.

On Aug. 31, police conducted a welfare check of an 89-year-old man, at the request of his daughters who could not get in touch with him. He was OK and had just slept in, he said.
Using a spare key, police helped an Edgewood Lane resident get into her house after coming home from the hospital after midnight Sept. 1.
On Sept. 1, a man wearing a hospital gown, with a bandage on his head, was seen walking on Fenimore Rd. He asked for directions to the train station but declined further assistance.

An Asian woman in her 50s wearing a suit jacket was observed to be photographing houses on Garden Rd. Aug. 27. A resident complained. Police questioned the woman who said she was walking and photographing beautiful houses and flowers. Police advised her to stay off people’s property while taking pictures.
Doorbell
At 10:30 p.m., Aug. 27, someone got out of a white car, rang a resident’s doorbell and left. When the resident answered the door, the person got out of the white car and screamed. There was no sensible reason for the behavior.
Air quality
Parkfield Rd. residents complained of air pollution caused by construction work on the street Aug. 30. Police spoke with a construction crew that said they would be more careful going forward while cutting concrete.
Pedestrian struck
On Aug. 26, a pedestrian was struck at the intersection of Heathcote Rd. and Morris Lane.
Cars and roadways
On Aug. 25, police informed the highway department about a loose storm drain, which was promptly repaired.
On Aug. 26, a Porsche would not start at Spencer Place and East Parkway. Police helped the driver contact AAA for assistance.
Police put a dislodged manhole cover back in place on Gatehouse Ln. Aug. 27.
Following a traffic stop on Aug. 29, police issued a summons to a 23-year-old Ossining driver for unlicensed driving and a suspended registration.
Following a traffic stop for speeding on Post Rd. Aug. 30, police issued an 18-year-old Irvington driver a summons for a suspended registration.
An improperly parked car was interfering with the farmer’s market Aug. 31. Police spoke with the owner, who moved the car.

Dog bite
A Rock Creek Lane man reported his wife had been bitten by a dog Sept. 1. He cancelled police response before patrol could arrive.

A debit card was found on Scarsdale Ave. Sept. 1. Police vouchered it for safekeeping.

On Aug. 29, police advised a Parkfield Rd. resident of a noise complaint. The resident lowered the volume of music related to a party.

Gas leaks in a Murray Hill Rd. boiler room caused firefighters to shut down the boiler. They stood by for Con Edison Aug. 26.
On Aug. 27, firefighters assisted at a car accident at Post and Crane roads.
An oil-fired boiler malfunctioned on Saxon Woods Rd., and black smoke spewed from the chimney Aug. 27. Firefighters shut down the system and ventilated the space to eliminated some accumulated carbon monoxide. They advised the resident to repair the system.
On Aug. 30, firefighters assisted at a car accident at Post and Crane roads.

Police Report: Nanny Found Dead Inside Chesterfield Rd. House and Earbuds Stolen from Scarsdale Ave. Store

Death of Nanny
On Aug. 21, a Chesterfield Rd. homeowner reported her 71-year-old nanny, from Woodside, NY, was locked inside her bedroom, and she was not responding to the homeowner’s attempts to make contact. Police went to the scene, and firefighters assisted in forcing open the door. They found the nanny dead inside the en suite bathroom. Scarsdale Volunteer Ambulance Corps pronounced the woman dead, and police notified her next of kin.
Stolen Earbuds
Around 3 a.m., Aug. 25, a Scarsdale Ave. store clerk advised that two male parties entered the store and stole wireless earbuds. The clerk approached the men and advised them to pay for the merchandise, as he attempted to secure the front door to prevent them from leaving, one of the men struck the store clerk in the left hand and fled the scene. The clerk advised that three additional males were waiting in a black Toyota sedan. They fled in an unknown direction. One man was described as being in his early 20s, approximately 5'8” and Spanish speaking. The clerk advised that he would like to have the incident documented only at this time and will speak with his supervisor to determine if additional action will be taken.
Stolen
On Aug. 24, a Murray Hill Rd. woman reported her son’s Mac laptop was stolen from his backpack while traveling in Chile.
A caller reported items were stolen from his car parked on Brewster Rd. Aug. 24, At least five items were reported stolen.
Identity theft
On Aug. 18, a Corell Rd. resident reported that someone added a fraudulent address and phone number to one of his financial accounts with Trans Union. He did not yet suffer any financial losses.
Screams
A Mamaroneck Rd. family reported hearing a single female scream multiple times in the course of the week Aug. 21. Police investigated but could not determine the source of the alleged screams.
Suspicious
On Aug. 22, a Lincoln Rd. woman reported that she had a strange encounter with an older white male. She said the encounter occurred that morning while on a walk in the neighborhood. The unknown male pulled up next to her in a blue sedan her and began asking her questions about herself. When the conversation ended, he asked her to reach into his vehicle for a handshake, which she declined. She then stated he left the area. He was described him as a white man in his 60s or 70s, with grey hair. He stated his name was "Jerry".
Help
A person accidentally got locked inside a bathroom at the Wayside Lane tennis courts Aug. 19. Police and firefighters went to the structure and were able to open the door to release the person unharmed. They removed the faulty hardware.
Police called a taxi to help a Brooklyn man, who was walking on Palmer Ave. because he exited the train too early, at 5:45 a.m., Aug. 23. The taxi was going to take the man to a family member’s house in the Bronx.
A homeless man was charging his phone on Popham Rd. Aug. 23. Police asked him to move along and not to use a Village establishment for such a purpose.
Cars and roadways
On Aug. 19, a driver got two flat tires on Post Rd. He reported the flat tires, alleging that they could have been caused by a “drainage grate.” Police checked the road but found nothing to be out of order.
The highway department was informed about a dead raccoon on Post Rd. Aug. 19.
On Aug. 20, police informed Verizon about a low hanging wire on Crossway.
Police called a tow for a disabled car on Scarsdale Ave. Aug. 21.
Police discarded yellow cargo bags from Jefferson Rd. Aug. 21 because the bags were identified as garbage.
A tree fell at Montrose and Kingston roads, knocking down multiple wires Aug. 21.
On Aug. 22, a Weaver Street employee reported a car was “doing donuts” in a Weaver Street field.
Highway department workers applied quick patch filler to a marked pothole on Harvest Dr. Aug. 22.
Police notified Verizon and Con Edison about fallen wires on Brewster Rd. Aug. 23.
A passing truck making a delivery on Dickel Rd. took down wires Aug. 23. Police notified Verizon and Con Edison.
Two car accidents were officially reported in the Village this week.
Animals
A fox was reported on Mamaroneck Rd. Aug. 19. Police observed the fox to be healthy and displaying normal behavior for the species.
A water department employee reported a possibly rabid fox on Murray Hill Rd. Aug. 21. It was gone when police arrived.
Village code
On Aug. 18, police removed illegally posted signs on Brewster Rd. On Aug. 19, police removed illegally posted signs on Madison and Drake roads. On Aug. 20, police removed illegally posted signs on Weaver St. and Hamilton and Wynmor roads. On Aug. 22, police removed illegally posted signs on Mamaroneck Rd. Summonses were issued as appropriate.
After neighbors complained of a “loud movie” heard from a Franklin Rd. house on Aug. 23, police spoke with a person who had been listening to an audio book while working out, with the windows open. The person said he would lower the volume and close the windows.
On Aug. 24, power tools were being used for at least a second time outside of Village allotted times. Police issued a summons.
Lost and found
On Aug. 18, a resident reported losing her Overseas Citizen of India identity card somewhere in the Village.
On Aug. 20, a caller reported losing her MZ Wallace handbag containing her wallet, driver’s license and credit cards in the Village on Aug. 6.
A car key was found on a Brewster Rd. sidewalk Aug. 23.
A passerby found a cell phone and turned it in to the management of a Spencer Place store Aug. 24. Management gave it to police.
Firefighters
On Aug. 18, smoke was reported in a Heathcote Rd. house. A general contractor was on scene reporting light smoke coming from a first-floor corner. The house was under full renovation, so the floor was pulled up in the area where smoke was observed. No source of ignition was found, and whatever was burning was extinguished. Firefighters shut the main breaker to the house to eliminate any electrical problems. Firefighters checked all levels and the exterior, but no cause was discovered. Workers potentially had caused the condition, and it was not reported, as per firefighters.
A neighbor watching dogs on Johnson Rd accidentally got locked out of the house Aug. 20. Firefighters gained entry through a rear patio door.
Firefighters assisted at a Post Rd. car accident Aug. 20.
Firefighters placed a Christie Place elevator out of service due to elevator malfunction Aug. 20.
A wedding ring got stuck on a man’s finger Aug. 23. Firefighters first used a compression tool in an attempt to create enough space for the ring to slide off, but that attempt did not work. Firefighters then made two cuts through the ring, and the pieces of the ring fell off from the finger.
Firefighters ventilated a Cooper Rd. kitchen to disperse accumulated gas vapors caused by a day of cooking without using the exhaust vent hood Aug. 24.

Police Break Up Underage Drinking Party, Wallet and Bike Missing, and Garbage Truck on Fire

Photo Credit: Shelley GrafsteinStolen: On Aug. 11, a Lincoln Rd. resident reported that he received a call from a Scarsdale pool employee advising that someone turned in his wallet to them. The resident advised that the wallet was found near the pool area, which was suspicious because he had not been to the pool or in the area. The resident stated that he had been home all day, but that he had a pest control service and refrigerator repairman at his house.
The resident stated that he thinks one of those parties may have taken the wallet from his residence and that approximately $200 was also taken.
A bicycle was stolen from the rack on Depot Place Aug. 12.
Car break-ins
An unlocked car parked on Boulevard was entered in the early morning hours of Aug. 14, and several items were stolen. These items included a wallet containing $400, a passport, driver’s license and a spare car key. The suspect exited from a white BMW and approached the car, according to video footage.
Identity theft and scams
On Aug. 11, a Murray Hill Rd. woman reported that she was the victim of a scam.
On Aug. 14, a Highland Way woman reported that she accidentally wired money to an unknown person after her contractor’s business was hacked and she received a fraudulent email. Her bank is investigating the wire transfer.
Domestic matters
A caller requested help because she said she can’t deal with personal conflicts with her mother Aug. 13. The mother said the daughter is having trouble with medical issues. The father said the daughter is currently speaking with a psychologist regarding her dilemma. No further police action was requested.
On Aug. 14, a Woods Lane boy walked into headquarters to report that his mother took away his gaming device. Police called the mother. She stated her son had been misbehaving at home; so she took it as a form of discipline. She further advised she will be returning it that evening.
Tampering
An Overhill Rd. parking meter’s coin bank appeared to have been tampered with, but it was still intact with coins inside Aug. 15.
Concerns
On Aug. 11, a caller reported a Franklin Rd. young man might be suicidal. Police went to the young man’s house and spoke to the man. He stated he was trying to get hold of customer service in regard to being locked out of an account. He said he was he not able to get in direct communication with the company. In a customer service chat, he did state he would harm himself if they did not respond. He said he did not really mean it and does not plan on harming himself; rather, he was just trying to get a response. Patrol spoke with his parents who stated he has no history of mental health conditions and he is not capable harming himself.
On Aug. 17, an elderly woman was screaming about things that seemed delusional at the intersection of Garth and Popham roads. Patrol spoke with the woman who stated she believed people were speaking about her sister on the train station platform. She advised she has sent “emails regarding a network she heard about.” She stated she was heading to Central Ave and left the location prior to police departure.
Underage party
Police dispersed approximately 30 youths from an underage party on Old Lyme Road, with visible containers of alcohol beverages and red cups littering the yard, on Aug. 14. The homeowners were present.
Fall
A 79-year old resident reported falling in Chase Park Aug. 14. She declined medical attention.
Suspicious
On Aug. 11, a caller reported a small box was left by the USPS collection box on Depot Place. It had a label with postage already paid. Police took it to the post office and dropped it off.
Death
An 89-year-old male Chateaux Circle resident died at home Aug. 14.
Garbage truck fire
On Aug. 16, police received numerous calls about a garbage truck fire on Secor Rd. Multiple patrol units along with firefighters responded to the location. Upon arrival, the fire was observed to be out. Workers had removed the contents of the truck to mediate any damage. Firefighters applied water to the back of the truck to ensure the fire would not reignite. No damage was observed to the vehicle, and the cause of the small fire appeared to be a battery that ignited in a small appliance.

Sanitation workers were asked to remove a dead animal from Ramsey Rd. Aug. 11.
Highway workers were asked to remove a fallen branch from Cayuga Rd. Aug. 11.
A private tree fell on Normandy Lane Aug. 13.

Firefighters
On Aug. 11, firefighters assisted with a car accident on Mamaroneck Rd.

Firefighters shut gas to a Popham Rd. stove burner after a gas odor was detected inside the same apartment Aug. 11. They ventilated and stood by for Con Edison.
On Aug. 13, firefighters assisted with a reported inside odor of smoke in a Murray Hill Rd. house. The resident reported that there was an odor of burning inside the primary bedroom and that the bedroom lights were not working. Firefighters found a tripped electrical breaker servicing the bedroom lighting circuit and advised the resident to contact a licensed electrician to evaluate the circuit. Firefighters left the breaker in the "off" position.
Firefighters were dispatched to the Hutchinson River Parkway for a reported vehicle fire. They encountered one vehicle stopped in the left lane of travel, not actively on fire, with all occupants out of the vehicle. A witness reported that while the vehicle was travelling, the underside of the car erupted into flames. The driver of the vehicle reported a mechanical failure at generally the same time. Firefighters found that the rear differential housing failed, released oil, and the fluid ignited when it contacted the exhaust system. The fire did not spread to any other parts of the vehicle. Firefighters moved the vehicle off of the highway at the request of Westchester County police. Firefighters spread absorbent on spilled fluids in the roadway.
Firefighters stood by for Con Edison at the site of burning wires on Brewster Rd. Aug. 14.
Cushman Rd. residents reported a haze in their house Aug. 15. Firefighters traced the source of the haze to leaking refrigerant coming from an attic HVAC air handler that was leaking. They metered all levels of the house with no readings. The haze dissipated.

Police Report: Cars and Scooter Stolen, Graffiti and a Bat

Stolen
An electric scooter was stolen from a locked bike rack on Depot Place Aug. 5. The lock was not damaged, suggesting the thief “guessed” the four digit code.
Graffiti
Graffiti made with pink and green fluorescent spray paint was reported on Mamaroneck Rd. tennis courts, at the middle school, Aug. 4.
Identity theft and scams
On May 5. A Cambridge Rd. woman reported fraudulent accounts had been opened in her name, including with Raymour and Flanigan.
Someone called a Colvin Rd. woman, alleging to be from Chase Bank and asked her to send money to a Zelle account Aug. 5. She did, and she is not suffering a financial loss.
Neighbors
On Aug. 4, a Brambach Rd. resident stated his neighbor has been gathering branches and tossing them over on his side of the property. The resident showed police a video of that event. Such incidents have allegedly been taking place since 2019. The most recent incident occurred in May 2023. The resident wanted police to document the report.
Driver
A Lyft driver cancelled a pickup and showed up at a Boulder Brook Rd. house anyway, alarming the resident Aug. 5. The driver would not respond to messages via the app to leave the house. Police spoke with the driver, who was new to Lyft and did not understand the assignment or the use of the app.
Help
Police stood by while a man removed his belongings from a Taunton Rd. house Aug. 5.
Concerns
On Aug. 6, a called reported a white Audi parked on Scarsdale Ave., occupied by two females who might be drinking alcohol in the car. Police arrived on scene and saw only one person in the car. Patrol observed an alcoholic beverage on the front armrest, which did appear to be consumed. The driver stated that she got the beverage at home for a friend and did not consume the beverage. She did not appear to be intoxicated. Patrol contacted the girl’s guardian who came to the scene to drive the vehicle and his daughter home.
Suspicious
On Aug. 7, a Murray Hill Rd. resident reported suspicious vehicles in the area and hearing strange noises inside his residence. Patrol arrived and met with the resident, who requested a check of the interior of the residence due to noises heard upstairs. Patrol conducted a check and found all to be secure and in good order. The resident also advised that an unknown party rang his doorbell earlier in the day, stating he wanted to "interview wealthy residents in the area," which the complainant found suspicious. He also advised that a vehicle was parked and idling on the street for an extended period of time which concerned him. Patrol advised the resident to contact police if he needs further assistance.

On Aug. 5, a 34-year-old Tuckahoe driver was issued a summons for driving with a suspended registration following a traffic stop on Post Rd. The license plate was removed, and the car was towed.
On Aug. 5, a 28-year-old New Rochelle driver was issued a summons for driving with a suspended registration following a traffic stop on Chase Rd. The license plate was removed, and the car was towed.
On Aug. 6, a 68-year-old White Plains driver was issued a summons for driving with a suspended registration, unlicensed driving and operating a motor vehicle without insurance following a traffic stop on Mamaroneck Rd. The license plate was removed, and the car was towed.
On Aug. 6, a 35-year-old Yonkers driver was issued a summons for driving with a suspended registration and an uninspected motor vehicle following a traffic stop on Chase Rd. The license plate was removed, and the car was towed.
On Aug. 6, a 21-year-old White Plains driver was issued a summons for driving with a suspended registration following a traffic stop on Post Rd. The license plate was removed, and the car was towed.
On Aug. 6, a 36-year-old Hartsdale driver was issued a summons for driving with a suspended registration following a traffic stop on Mamaroneck Rd. The license plate was removed, and the car was towed.

On Aug. 8, a 27-year-old Scarsdale driver was issued a summons for driving with a suspended registration following a traffic stop on Lorraine Place. The license plate was removed, and the car was towed.
Police helped escort a pedestrian to her destination on Weaver St. Aug. 9.
An Amazon delivery truck struck a tree on Greenacres Ave. Aug. 10.
A tree fell on Rock Creek Lane Aug. 10. Police informed the highway department for removal.
Five car accidents were officially reported in the Village this week.
Animals
A caller reported a barking and limping dog on Stonehouse Rd. might be in distress Aug. 6. Police arrived and spoke with the dog’s owner, who apologized for the barking. She said the dog had an old injury, which caused the limp. Police determined that the dog otherwise seemed to be in good condition, well cared for and well fed.
A Nelson Rd. woman went to Scarsdale Volunteer Ambulance Corps headquarters on Weaver St. to report a dog bite Aug. 9. She was taken to White Plains Hospital Center for treatment.
A resident of a Gaylor Rd. convent reported a bat inside the house Aug. 10, Police corned the bat in a stairwell and isolated it there Aug. 10. Police advised to call a pest control company, but the resident only got answering services since it was around 2:30 a.m.
Village code
People soliciting in cow uniforms on Cambridge Rd. had a permit to solicit in the Village Aug. 5.
Responding to a noise complaint on Black Walnut Rd., police observed youth attempting to damage Village-posted signs on Mamaroneck Rd. Aug. 8. Police notified the youths’ parents and asked the parents to pick up the youths.
Police removed illegally posted signs on Post and Fenimore roads Aug. 8 and on Heathcote Rd. Aug. 10 and 11. Summonses were issued as appropriate.
Police advised a Secor Rd. club manager of a noise complaint Aug. 8.
Lost and found
A resident reported losing afront license plate in the Village Aug. 8.
A Visa card was found at the farmer’s market on East Parkway Aug. 10. Police contacted the card issuer and was advised to destroy the card.
Firefighters
A Quaker Center grill caught fire Aug. 4. Police and firefighters responded and firefighters took over to make sure the fire had been fully extinguished, so the grill would not reignite Aug. 4. Firefighters also found a leaking propane tank and moved it away from the house. The valve would not close, so firefighters allowed it to leak until it was empty, and they used water from hose lines to disperse the leaking propane. The resident was advised to discard the damaged grill and tank.
An outlet fire was reported on Carman Rd. Aug. 4. Firefighters found an arcing outlet and shut the breaker. They advised the resident to call an electrician for repair.
On Aug. 5, firefighters helped a Foxhall Rd. resident open a locked garage to get a car out after the remote opener would no longer function.
On Aug. 7, firefighters assisted at a car accident on the Bronx River Parkway.
On Aug. 7, firefighters unlocked a Madison Rd. bathroom door to help free a child accidentally locked inside.
On Aug. 7, a resident was locked outside and firefighters tried to get into a locked Black Birch Lane house through a second-floor window that was supposedly unlocked. But the window was locked, and firefighters had to enter through the garage. While removing the ladder to the second floor, an unsecured plastic flower box became dislodged and fell to the ground. No damage occurred, but soil spilled on the driveway.
Firefighters stood by for Con Edison at the site of sparking and smoking wires, with smoke coming from a manhole on Chateaux Circle Aug. 9.
Firefighters shut down an instant hot water device that was arcing and causing an odor inside a Kent rd. house Aug. 8.
On Aug. 8 and 9, firefighters assisted at car accidents on the Hutchinson River Parkway.
Smoke was coming from an underground manhole on Chateaux Circle Aug. 9. An electrical burning odor and “humming” noise were present. Firefighters called Con Edison and stood by for their arrival.

Police Report: Luxury Cars Stolen, Vandals Smash Windows and Popham Rd. Man Arrested in Domestic Matter

Arrest: On July 29, a 56-year-old Popham Rd. man presented himself at headquarters for arrest processing related to an alleged domestic matter. The defendant, who was charged with disobeying a mandate, was released on his own recognizance after the arrest was processed.
Stolen cars
A 2024 Audi Q7, valued at $70,000, was stolen from a Dolma Rd. driveway overnight from July 31 to Aug. 1. The owner – an Oyster Bay, NY man – realized the car was missing Aug. 1.
A 2024 BMW X7 was stolen from a Spier Rd. driveway overnight from Aug 2-3. The resident realized the car was missing Aug. 1.
Vandalism with broken windows
Vandalism was reported on the top level of the Freightway Garage July 28. A window frame and a window pane were damaged.
A Lebanon Rd. resident reported that someone threw a large rock through one of her house’s living room windows July 29. Both the resident tenant and landlord were present at the time of the report.
A Parkfield Rd. resident reported that a rear window on one of his cars was broken July 30.
Stolen
A theft from the Scarsdale pool was reported on July 30. The victim was a Lincoln Rd. woman. At least seven items were reported stolen.
Fraud
A Popham Rd. woman reported fraudulent charges on her credit card from an establishment in Queens, at which she had been staying previously. However, she left in June and still received a charge for over $2,000 for using the establishment. Police advised her to call the hotel and request a refund.
Identity theft
On Aug. 1, a Carthage Rd. woman reported that she was receiving collection notices from an account she did not open. She said that between March 2024 and October 2024, a fraudulent AT&T account was opened in her name. She further went on to relate she was only made aware of it after receiving a letter from AT&T on July 31, 2025, stating that she owes $368.14 on the account. She then started a dispute with the company about the account but needed a police report to continue.
On Aug. 2, a Hutchinson Ave. man reported that he was alerted in June that his Merrill Lynch Edge account was accessed by an unknown party who subsequently withdrew funds. He also advised that he was contacted by Chase Bank that a fraudulent credit card was opened in his name.
Help
A Brewster Rd. woman, who left her house without locking her front door, came home and thought someone was inside her house July 28. Police checked the house and found no one inside.
On Aug. 1, police helped a person locate her mother’s jewelry at her mother’s Saxon Woods Rd. residence, after first believing the jewelry might have been missing.
Wrong address
A legal process server arrived at a Ridgecrest East address to deliver papers July 28. The residents called police and said the person listed on the papers did not live at the address.
Bang
A Ridgedale Rd. resident heard a bang against one of his windows and asked for police to check the house July 29. Police arrived and checked the house. Everything was intact. Police observed several birds flying around nearby pine trees and deduced that one of the birds struck the window.
Noise
An Old Lyme Rd. woman reported hearing noise on her roof Aug. 2. Police could not find any cause for noise and thought it might have come from the earthquake reported in New Jersey.
Trash
On Aug. 1, a contractor working at Freightway Garage reported that an unknown person had dumped trash into a dumpster that his construction company was renting for
work. He wished to have this incident documented.
Domestic matter
A Cooper Rd. man asked police to stand by while he had a conversation with his daughter July 30.
Neighbors
On Aug. 3, an Aspen Rd. resident reported an ongoing issue with a neighbor. The resident stated that on June 27, while playing basketball with his girlfriend, he noticed the neighbor standing at the edge of his driveway watching them. He stated his neighbor remained there with his arms crossed until they became uncomfortable and went inside. He also reported that earlier on Aug. 3, he observed his neighbor recording him with his cell phone as he walked past the residence. He said he questioned his neighbor about why he felt the need to continuously make video recordings. The neighbor's wife then allegedly replied by making comments about the resident having recently been in a car accident. He described these comments as being made "mockingly." The resident was unsettled that the neighbor even knew this information, as the accident occurred elsewhere and they share no mutual friends.
Cars and roadways
A power line fell on Cornell St. July 28. Con Edison was informed.
A large branch fell on Depot Place July 28. Police taped off the area and notified the highway department.
Police advised Verizon about an open utility box on Huntington Ave. July 29.
The highway department responded to remove a fallen branch from Fenimore Rd. July 29.
Highway workers and Con Edison were notified about a fallen branch and fallen wires on Harcourt Rd. July 30.
Highway workers were notified about a fallen branch on Depot Place July 30.
An accident involving a bicyclist and a car driver was reported on Fenimore Rd. July 30.
Police informed Optimum about a fallen wire on Secor Rd. July 30.
A truck struck a utility pole at Fenimore and Fox Meadow roads July 31. The pole was leaning over the roadway, and police stood by for Con Edison, taping off the area.
On July 31, a fallen branch was dangling in electrical wires over a Graham Rd. driveway. Police taped off the area and notified Con Edison.
On Aug. 1, Verizon was notified about a fallen wire on Nelson Rd.
The driver of a silver sedan, stopped on Brittany Close, said he was making deliveries and had pulled over to take a quick nap Aug. 1.
A small sink hole started to form on Fox Meadow Rd, and police marked it off with a cone and tape to caution pedestrians Aug. 2.
On Aug. 1, Verizon was notified about a hanging wire on Weaver St.

Sanitation
On July 29, a caller reported that he observed a small clear bag with a bio-hazard label on Lyons Rd. He said it was not the normal garbage pick-up day. Patrol arrived at the location and observed a bag on the ground with a “yellow urine-like substance.” Patrol advised dispatch to leave a note for sanitation for removal.
Dogs
A Birchall Rd. resident reported that her dog was attacked by another dog earlier that day, on Aug. 2.
Lost and found
On Aug. 2, a Mamaroneck Rd. man reported losing a Chinese credit card in New York City on July 19.
Village code
Neighbors complained of loud music from a Hillview Dr. house Aug. 2. Police advised the resident to lower the volume of the music.
Power tools were being used outside of Village-code designated times Aug. 3. Police issued a verbal warning.
Firefighters
Firefighters assisted at a car accident on the Hutchinson River Parkway July 26.
Firefighters stood by for Con Edison at the site of fallen wires on Cornell St. July 28.

On Aug. 2, a three-year-old child got locked inside an Eton Rd. bedroom accidentally. Firefighters were able to successfully release the child from the room, unharmed.
On Aug. 3, firefighters assisted in locating a woman who had fallen and needed help from paramedics on a Saxon Woods Park trail while hiking.
